Summary: Almost two hundred recipes for one-dish meals
Review: Almost two hundred recipes for one-dish meals blend from crockery cooker dishes to skillet stir-frys, savory pies and casseroles. The focus on hearty main courses makes for an important guide to daily meals while the color photos liberally accompanying the completed dishes prove useful for duplicating presentation effects. The emphasis on streamlining potentially time-consuming techniques - such as making a quiche crust from biscuit dough - is particularly inviting.

Summary: Worth every penny and then some.
Review: I got this cookbook along with several other "one-dish" or "quick" meal cookbooks and this one is by far the best. So far every meal I've cooked has been a winner. There are no recipes relying on cream of chicken soup or bread crumbs to make the meal. Although some people might consider some of the ingredients to be "exotic," I have yet to run into something I couldn't find at my local supermarket (I think things like tube polenta, feta cheese and kalamata olives are pretty standard food items now). None of the recipes require extensive prep or cooking time and every one I've tried has been delicious. The recipes are easily adaptable too -- I changed the recipe for a ground lamb and polenta dish to cubed chicken and the recipe still worked great. Tonight I made the salmon with tomato and olive sauce and it was a big hit. I can't praise this book highly enough!! Save your money on the other books until you read this one.
