Summary: Brody's Best
Review: As a budding gourmet, one of my recent culinary delights was from this book- Lora Brody's crock-pot lasagna is the best! However, in our Rival Crock-Pot, I discovered that about 4 1/2 hours is good. At 6 hours, our lasagna burned on the bottom. All the same, I'm not discouraged. I plan to make the sauce recipe alone again and serve it on pasta. ( By the way, since I don't have a food processor, I used bottled basil pesto instead of Lora's homemade tomato version, and it was fine. )

Summary: Maximize your appliance potential
Review: I found this book at the library, checked it out, tried out several of the recipes, and decided it was a must-have for my own cookbook collection. I have practically worn out my copy of Brody's Entertaining Survival Guide and expect that Plugged In will also become well-used and well-loved. I especially like the slow cooker recipes. I am not interested in slow cooker recipes that tell you to dump a can of cream of mushroom soup in along with your other ingredients. The slow cooker recipes in Plugged In are very tasty and different. After the chapter on electric skillets I am kicking myself for having put mine in a garage sale two summers ago. My only complaint about this book is that there is too much info about each appliance that can easily be found in the manufacturer's booklet. No biggie as you can skip over it but I would have rather seen the space used for more tasty recipes!

Summary: Electrifyingly delicious!
Review: I'm biased since I was a member of the team who helped Lora with the book. I'm particularly fond of the Smoked Trout Mousse, especially on matzoh with balsamic vinegar-soaked capers. My mouth is STILL watering!
