Review: I have referred to this book again and again since I received it as a gift. Assumes a certain degree of prior cooking experience, but great for cross-referencing against recipes in other books. The chicken fried steak is probably not what I consider chicken fried steak, but a good recipe nonetheless. Nothing fancy here and not particularly health conscious, just good comfort food, East Texas style, with a little homespun wisdom thrown in for good measure.
