Summary: "You should taste her cooking!!!"- That is my wife now
Review: I want to suggest buying this book to everyone who likes to eat good and wants to learn how to cook. To me it brings the the smell of parent's home and mother's cuisine. It had changed my wife from a girl that didn't know how to make scrambled eggs to a cook recognized among the friends, neighbours and colleagues who "check" the content of my lunchbag too often. My mother gave me this book: "I know that you like to eat good. It is hard to find restaurnts in Canada with this food on the menue. Take this cookbook, it has easy-to-make and very good recipes." She was right- you know mothers.

Summary: This is an excellent introduction to Yugoslav cooking.
Review: This is a nostalgic and informative introduction to Yugoslav cooking. Being Serbian, I often wondered how my grandmother made some of those excellent ethnic dishes -- this book contains all of those favorites. Written in both English and Serbian, it is a delight to read the history of the recipes as well as learning how to cook the marvelous dishes featured. It truly was a trip down memory lane as I read and prepared the recipes in this book. It is a 'must have' for any devotee of ethnic cuisine. The recipes are simple to follow and easy to prepare with no exotic ingredients. In case of special spices needed, a substitution list is always given. The author did an excellent job of creating a mixture of tastes from the various cultures in Sarajevo: Serbian, Hungarian, Muslim, Turkish, etc.
