Review: I have about 15 cookbooks. This is the one I go to when I want to make something special. This statement though is somewhat misleading, because I go to it for everyday meals that taste special. Even my kids go to it when they feel like cooking something because they know they have had some great meals based on many of the recipes in this book. The recipes are well written and easy to follow. Some of our favorites include chicken a l'orange, coq au vin, chicken parmesan, herbed beans, cowboy cookies. They are easy to make with these recipes and taste great. You won't find every recipe you're looking for in here, but you will find something for every meal and for every part of a meal - appetizer, soup, main dish, dessert. I've even adapted some of their recipes to incorporate leftovers we have on hand and thus have a wonderful meal that no one would suspect is made from leftovers. Oh and we love the apple cranberry crisp.

Review: My mother gave me a copy of this cookbook 8 years ago as a wedding shower gift. I have learned to use this as my "bible" to cooking delicious romantic meals for 2, entertaining a few friends as a dinner party, or throwing a large christening and/or pool party. The recipes are delicious, easy to prepare, and always warrant raved reviews from guests! The book also is wonderful in that it offers complete menu ideas. I find this extra nice with my busy lifestyle, I don't always have time to think of everything from apps to dessert that flow nicely together,so luckily that is already done for me. This book definitely receives 5 stars from me and from our family and friends. Make your life easier too and get a copy! They make great wedding shower gifts...I should know....the recipient won't return this present! Happy cooking!

Summary: A Classic Cookbook, One To Stay Around A Long Time
Review: This Cookbook is full of delicious recipes and tantalizing tidbits of Main Line history. I was pleased to find all the recipes contained only fresh ingredients. The artwork throughout is very original. The special "Saturday Section" features complete menus and recipes for entertaining. I was also informed the proceeds from the sale of the cookbook benefit local charities.
