Review: If you are any kind of Marilyn fan at all...then you need to have this extraordinary book!!! The hefty pricetag is well worth it. My favorite photos in the book are of Bert Stern's and Marilyn's first session together (with the see-thru scarves)because it has lots of fine close-ups of Marilyn's face. I also like the "bed" series that took place at the end of their second session. I was less thrilled with the fashion shots because i feel that the people at vogue had some odd ideas about what clothing to put Marilyn in...all those black dresses and stiff poses felt unnatural to me. But those photos also showcase Marilyn in a different light altogether...and that makes them interesting. I can never get enough of looking at this book and i wish they had the space to enlarge every single photo..but i guess that's being a little greedy!!! hahaha Marilyn was an incredible beauty and i think this book shows that fact of well.

Review: MARILYN MONROE: THE COMPLETE LAST SITTING is a beautiful book about a beautiful woman. Let's face it, men of a "certain age," even when they themselves now are half-dead, still get excited at the very thought of Marilyn. Ms. Monroe exemplified America's concepts both of beauty, and of sex appeal, in the middle of the 20th Century. As a result, THE COMPLETE LAST SITTING makes a unique and most appreciated gift for this any member of this population. Photographer Bert Stern has used his camera to write Marilyn a visual love letter. Many of his shots of her are touching depictions of the woman whom she was in her heart, as opposed to the manufactured creature of "movie star" into which the entertainment industry had turned her.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: Not only are the pictures radiant, but the story is interesting as well. I tried to put myself in the shoes of the photographer when it came to the climatic 'kiss'. Was it enough? Was it too much? Should he, shouldn't he?. It's something only the individual can answer for himself. The only complaint I have about the book are all the x's on the pictures, but that in itself is an interesting story. Before the pictures were to be distributed, Marilyn 'X'ed out the pictures she didn't like directly on the negetive! I would have love to have seen Bert's face when he found out she did this. Oh well, I guess it isn't all bad. Those X's are like an autograph I guess. Also I think these are the only pictures of Marilyn you'll ever see with her scar from gallbladder surgery.

Review: Oh my gosh, this book is AMAZING!! The photographs are beautiful, and I have not seen this collection anywhere else. This book is completely worth the money.

Review: Out of all of the Marilyn Monroe books that I have collected over the years, this volumne remains to be the most "unique" of its kind. The photo session that Monroe posed was completed just weeks before her most untimely death. Monroe was from her inception a most fascinatingly beautiful lady who to this very day the super models and stars who possess the charm and beauty, cannot compare to her. I really do not think that there will be another Marilyn Monroe. It just seems to me, that they "broke" the mold, when this girl was born and it seemingly doesn't look as if there will be another one like her. I found that the photos which were "X"'ed out were not to be published per request of Miss Monroe; however, years later, it seems that phtographer Bert Stern changed course and published them just the same. The book should be in every Marilyn Monroe fans' library as well as any professional photographer's library. I overwhelmingly give this book a "5" Star Salute!

Review: The Complete Last Sitting is a huge book, as heavy as beautiful. This is a reprint of the original first 1982 edition. I waited for this book for a long time because in the internet autions something the book was sale for more than $500. Now in this brand new exactly edition you have the chance to see and enjoy the last and real Marilyn. A monumental book!

Summary: Beautiful, just like she was!!!
Review: This book is an essential for all MM fans. The photos are some of the most beautiful taken. I also enjoyed reading Bert Sterns account of meeting and working with monroe on this shoot. His impressions of her are touchingly personal and for those of us who will never have the opportunity of a face to face encounter with this amazing woman Stern's sincere first hand account, accompanied by his photos is pretty close. The photos are amazing but repeative,and although the book is quite expensive, it is worth it just for those accidential shots where you get a rare glimpse of a Marilyn who isn't posing for the camera.
