Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The book is very nice and usefull
Review: I liked this book very much.I have already NEW GLAMOUR one and BEAUTY SHOTS one. I would like to buy another books from this series, but they are relatively expensive ( the average month wage in our country is 200 US dolars) for me as a student, but however this book is really very helpfull even for profesionals. And its like a learning book for amateur photographers, like me.Now i am trying to save money for another one.

Summary: Good for creative ideas
Review: I own just about all the books from the Pro-Lighting series, and this review covers not only this New Glamour book, but all of them. They are great books for getting new ideas and showing examples of accomplished photographers. They are not heavy on technique and therefore are probably not well suited for beginners. Other than a simple diagram, it does not do a good job of telling the whys and hows of the photographs. All in all, they make good coffe table books.

Summary: The book's for person who wants to study glamour photography
Review: I'm a glamour photographer and I find the book is very very useful for me to study more. I already have another pro-lighting series like NUDES, GLAMOUR SHOTS, PROVOCATIVE SHOTS, PORTRAIT and LINGERIE. You can study about the lighting set up or just to look at the final photos in this book, all the photos are amazing, they're sharp, beautiful and very arty.

Summary: Photographer in Alaska
Review: This book is wonderful. It provides some very creative examples along with enough info for your imagination to take over. You will need a basic understanding of exposure and lighting but New Glamour can help you take the next step.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The book is very nice and usefull
Review: This volume of the Pro Lighting series starts with a disclaimer that a basic understanding of photography is assumed. That's definitely true for "New Glamour". The book treats a variety of glamour types - including male glamour - by providing representative images, each accompanied by a lighting diagram, exposure information, and the photographer's comments.

This wealth of technical information would make this a superlative text (at least in my opinion) IF there were some treatment of why the chosen lighting scheme was chosen, relative to other possibilities. In other words, I can easily see how to reproduce the effects from the provided information, but there's no discussion of how these effects contribute to the image presented and strengthen it.

In spite of this flaw, the images presented are largely quite effective and well-documented. They cover a range of glamour styles and I found myself eager to attempt this or that approach as I perused the book. Be forewarned that the images were made by professional photographers with fully equipped studios - you won't reproduce them with your Instamatic and flashcube.

I did find the quality of the printing generally a bit grainier than I'd have liked, but that have been necessary to keep the cost down.

As inspiration, this is a worthwhile book, but it's probably not appropriate as a first, or only, book on glamour photography.
