Rating: Summary: "Kylie" is a must-have for all Kylie fans! Review: Kylie, the book, isn't quite what I had expected. It was BETTER! In addition to some of the most amzing pictures of Kylie from nearly every stage of her career, the book featured many brand new and previously unavailable photos. And clever words by the likes of Pete Waterman, Boy George, Ben Lee and Sir Elton John himself. Throw in some artful nudes and fantastic sketches and other art, and you have my vote for 5 stars. Kylie, the international superstar, is a true legend in her own time, and Kylie, the book, proves it!
Rating: Summary: Boring front cover. Review: The cover put me off right away, it's very boring. Not alot of thought went into the design of the book. contains many wacky and silly poems about "kylie" for some reason, and hardly any contribution by Kylie. seems like a vanity project took too far. I was relatively a new kylie fan until saw this book, but the pics and writing is off putting, it seems so fake. I wonder how much Kylie payed these people to write such nonsense about her??

Rating: Summary: like madonna's "sex" book, "kylie" is an amazing art book Review: This beautiful, 5 pound art book is a treasure for the kylie connisour. This stunning array of images with some very tasteful NUDES visually maps out the many transformations Kylie has undergone at the hands of stylists, artists and photographers. In addition to photographs there are beautiful illustrations and video "grabs", even a life-size Kylie photocopy. Kylie give us Kylie at her coyest, at her most naked. Hot pink-clad book comes in a sturdy, full color 10 inch x 15 inch slipcase cover

Rating: Summary: A Spectacular Record of a Great Star Review: Wow! Page after oversized page of the most imaginative, beautiful and kooky photographs ever made of any one performing artist. Good work by all concerned, especially by Kylie Minogue who lets herself, in this compilation, be photographed and otherwise rendered in a variety of bizarre and embarrassing ways, all in the name of art. And the artists involved are fantastic, the creme de la creme of the new British and European avant-garde, including Wolfgang Tillmans, Sam Taylor-Wood, Pierre et Gilles, and so many more. In this way Minogue pokes fun at herself as a kind of cultural Gumby figure, infinitely pliant and plastic, the object of fantasy and yet somehow the subject of her own demesne. Viva Kylie Minogue--vivat, vivat Regina!

Rating: Summary: Horribly Deceptive Review: Written from a self-absorbed angle, one only as little an impact such as kylie minogue on popular culture could produce such a pointless and self-indulgent excercise such this. But she really didn't need to -- did she?? Sure it boasts accounts from Nick Cave and Shirley Manson, but that's besides the point. If you have fallen for the unecessary hype surrounding kylie minogue at the moment, one could think there was more to it, its easy, and if you listen to her records it will perplex you even more to what the whole damned fuss is about? and why she has lasted such a longtime in the pop industry, before it seemed that she had a shelf life, but with the massive help of many creative people with stronger talents that pack more of a punch than kylie herself has once again been lifted up to that great, great wondorous pedestal,...but its a longway down, and its bound to be one hell of a bump, but this book is trying achieve the opposite. But Kylie is determined to portray herself as the perfect pop icon...no one like her in fact...well there was Madonna, who she remains totally unequalled to in this business that is what she forgets..Others do it better and did she have to prove it with writing a book like this?...seems like she had to. Okay, many artists throughout they're careers will have experienced what the problems with fame are, what its like dealing with it and dealing with the problems in their relationships around them aswell as they're career. But this book is totally one-dimensional, if not about the most pointless things, so far she stands for about as much as poolsides and cocktails, skimpy clothing, revealing plenty of flesh, which is going down well at the moment but there's not much else, she hasn't been a saviour or a true pioneer for lack of words. But that's as far as it goes for the tiny "pop icon". She changes her image, but her weakness lies in trying to prove her actual talent or something other than the usual or out of the ordinary. I must say if you like kylie and your a fan..this is a book you shouldn't miss out on. But for non-kylie fans, it means absolutely zilch. Not a particularly great, wonderous icon of our times, she is fun, and that is that. But surely she could have got past the nonsense of "I'am a big star" and actually got down to earth and wrote about herself as she is when she isn't too busy preening herself in the mirror and lapping up the joys of being a big pop princess, she may be right now but she has little to prove with it. May she enjoy it as long as it lasts, but hopefully she doesn't come back for more. Underneath it all, she remains a pure bore, and if anyone else thinks so, then great minds think alike. I forgot to mention the packaging of this book, hopelessly tacky as it gets, and the cover image is the most pointless and dull creation I have ever seen for an autobiography, an arm and sweatband notches the cringe factor up to ten. Sorry. You wouldn't want this in your collectors library of the most influential people in the world, if that's what you're looking for, get Madonna, or Bill Gates, now theres more substance than you can shake a stick at.
