To put it in simple terms this book is a required text book for our New Media course at VFS!This book covers LiveStage Professional from almost every angle you can think of. If you're new to LiveStage or to interactive video and media, or if you're stock in the Tracks Tab and don't know where to go, this book is for you. The author has an understanding of not only LiveStage Pro, but also on multimedia production and QuickTime in general. The book contains PC, Mac OS 9 and OS X screen shots, so you relate regardless of the platform you're using. Just like every other "Visual Quickstart Guide" this book has simple step by step illustrations on how to accomplish a ton of tasks.

Review: The book contained a lot of info that was just plain inaccurate! I think everyone can understand how frustrating it is to be following instructions word for word and have it not work. Buy at your own risk.

Summary: A very good book to get started with
Review: This book fills you in on the hows and whys of LiveStage. When you need to get something done and don't have the time to go through all the tutorials, you can just go to the appropriate chapter in the book and do it. You also get extra info and insights on both QuickTime and LiveStage that will help you "grok" LiveStage.

Review: When I received my copy of LS, I read the software manual front to back. I found it to be unclear and even after reading the whole thing I still was generally confused about LiveStage, specially on scripting. Thank God, this book rocks! It is the key to deeply understanding LiveStage in a way that is simple and fun to read. If you are confused about LiveStage, this book is a must have. (That has got to be the understatement of the year.) I did find a couple of sample scripts in the book that did not work as described, but I was able to tweak them and make them work for me. That is saying a lot for someone who did not know how to script before purchasing this book.
