Summary: Playing Trumpet again after 20 years
Review: An outstanding book which starts with the basics and works with you through some easy level popular songs -- all lessons are on CD and allow you to shift the balance feature of your player to play background music or with instructional trumpet. A smaller book, so recommend also purchasing a fold out fingering chart (one is included in the book, but its much smaller).

Summary: The CD makes the book
Review: I just received this book w/CD, tried it out and found it to be extremely informative in learning trumpet. The CD that comes with it makes it even more rewarding in that it gives you step by step instructions (as the book) including the sound of each note for comparison. I recommend this to anyone wanting to learn trumpet by self-teaching.

Summary: The CD makes the book
Review: I was skeptical of this book at first. It seemed too simple. But after trying it with some of my trumpet students, I've changed my mind. Students (and I) really like the enclosed CD accompaniment. It's what makes the book, in my opinion. It's more fun to play (as opposed to practice) the songs with the CD. This method works.
