Summary: Hilarious
Review: Ok, i've read the reviews from the people who think this book is horrible. I read at least five of these stories a day and I find them amusing. The stories are hilarious and most of them are true. One nice thing is the stories that are not true have the heading "Urban Legend". And even these stories are true but there are so many variations on the Internet that story in the book may not be 100% accurate. The stories are packed with laughs, and lessons. One lesson is, never check the barrel of a muzzle-loading rifle with a bic lighter. I encourage anyone who loves to laugh to buy this book. If you think it is evil to laugh at dead people think of it this way, you're not laughing at them, you're laughing at how they died. So buy this book, I promise that you will love it.

Summary: Bravo Wendy Northcutt!
Review: If you have a sense of humor, you'll love this book. The negative reviews posted on Amazon's web site just go to prove the old saw that "life is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel."

Summary: Funny concept but could have been better.
Review: The concept of the book is hilarious, but the most of the stories were short and lacking depth. I found myself thinking I could describe and reword some of the stories better. I got this book as a gift and though it was great to get. I probably would have been disappointed if I bought this book myself.

Summary: Good for some chuckles
Review: I read this book while pulling guard duty over night, and it kept me amused for quite awhile. I went ahead and ignored the authors advice, and just read it straight through. Inside were many interesting stories, divided into confirmed, unconfirmed and urban legend. All of the stories relate, of course, to the darwin awards. The basic premise of the Darwin Awards, for anyone whose been on an island with Richard Hatch, is that it's a dubious award given to those who improve the gene pool by removing themselves from it in the most laughable and idiotic fashions.

Summary: I object!
Review: This book devalues humans. Curtiss De Vedrine / aurthor - The Second Coming Of Age"

Summary: Seeing humor in life and death
Review: This book is hysterical! Everyone has done stupid things in their life and this book is a humorous look at some of the results of the stupidity (and creativity) of the human species. If you have ever watched those shows where videos are shown of people injuring themselves trying to perform silly stunts and laughed yourself silly, this is a book for you!

Summary: Learn and Die.
Review: In this of, literary stupidity, (Not the author, the stories in the book itself), I find myself laughing at things I normally woudln't find the least bit humourous. Although I do find this work, morbid and disturbing, It shows you just how stupid some people are.

I also have something to say about the people who don't like the book based purely on fact it saye EVOLUTION on the front. To You I think you people are sick, and closed-minded, and I'm sorry that you have to live your life in shorwd of denile, over a theory, nobody has proven god exisits, but you believe in him. Nowhere in the book does it say "god does not exist". So if choose to continue to live in your sheltered little world, where big bad THERORY'S cease to exists, I hope you happy, because everyone who you you shun because of differing opinions will not be. You discriminating selfish person. I truely pity you.

Summary: "Does the Author Believe in Evolution?!"
Review: Of course she does! How can you not find these anecdotes funny?___"A 34-year-old Colorado contractor wired his garden fence with household current in an attempt to keep his dog confined to the yard. He electrocuted himself when he brushed against the fence while reaching for a ripe tomato."___"A Berlin woman attempting to capture a memorable photograph of the Running Bulls in Nimes, France paid for her stupidity with her life when she removed a metal safety barricade and strode into the street, camera to her eye, only to be trampled by an oncoming horse and six rampaging bulls."___This book is amazing, sobering, hilarious. It gives a zany picture of humans caught with their shorts down... sometimes literally! Young or old, intellectual or not, everyone rolls with laughter when I hand over the Darwin Awards book. I had a hard time getting enough for Christmas, because the bookstores were always out... I give this book two thumbs up, but don't take my word for it! Darwin Awards are a cult classic for a reason. The book is unbelievably funny.

Summary: A stupid book about stupid people
Review: Too little book for too much money. Previous reviewers were correct that this is a poorly written and skimpy book. If it wasn't a gift I would send it back. It's sad that the author ditched all her training for this crude attempt at humour. It doesn't appear that she went to any of the locations to interview anybody.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Some funny, mostly pathetic
Review: Why do we have to gawk at accident scenes? This book appeals to a person's morbid curiosity. The writing is humorous, it is a quick read.
