Summary: Verry funny book, but don't stop here!
Review: This is one of the funniest prank letter books ever written, but your collection is not complete. Don't bother with sequels. Instead get the book that started it all: The Lazlo Letters by Don Novello and the latest prank letter book - Hire Me Dumbass by Joe Mozian - which takes the prank letter concept to a whole new direction.

Summary: Tongan Hospitality
Review: All of the Ted L. Nancy books are hilarious but this first one may be the best one. Particularly funny is Ted's letter to the King of Tonga and the festive response and photo he received in return. Tonga would appear to be worth the trip if it is possible to hang out with the king. This book is packed with one ludicrous letters after another and every one left me howling with laughter. I loved this book. If you have a sense of humor, you will love it too.

Summary: Letters from Seinfeld
Review: This is one of the funniest books I have read. It contains a collection of hilarious prank letters sent by a Ted L. Nancy (a probable pseudonym for Jerry Seinfeld). Matching the hilarity of the letters, however, are the equally ridiculous responses to them. At the moment, a television show is being developed by Seinfeld (again under the guise of Ted L. Nancy) which will display the marvelous wackiness of Mr. Nancy for a ... tube audience. It is difficult to imagine how this will transfer to the small screen. I recommend reading the Ted L. Nancy books instead.

Summary: Very Nutty!!
Review: I became interested in this book after reading an article about a sit-com that is in development on one of the major networks based on this book. I am a huge Seinfeld fan and anything with Seinfeld, I am interested in.

As you may or may not know, Jerry Seinfeld is rumored to be the real author of this book, using Ted L. Nancy as his nome de plume. He writes the introduction to the book, and in the introduction he states that he has a "Clark Kent" type relationship with Ted L. Nancy.

Ok, so I picked it up and could not put it down. The book is absolutely hilarious, and even funnier and entertaining when read aloud to family or friends. I read a few at the dinner table and the whole family enjoyed the letters. This is a book that needs to be purchased for its sheer entertainment value.

Ted L. Nancy is America's favorite pen-pal. In "Letters From a Nut" he has published some of his correspondence with various corporations, hotels, casinos, and even Vice President Al Gore. His letters are about ridiculous things, and the responses that they illicit are even more ridiculous. Seinfeld fan or not, this book is laugh out loud funny!

Summary: Ever heard of The Lazlo Letters?
Review: I haven't read "Letters from a Nut" yet, but from the description it sounds pretty funny. I only have one question for everyone who marvels at the "originality" of this material. Didn't *anyone* here read "The Lazlo Letters"?? Don Novello did this schtick (and did it damn well) 10 years ago! I'm shocked that no one has even mentioned this, much less suggested (as I will) that Novello (aka Lazlo Toth, aka Father Guido Sarducci of SNL fame) is also Ted Nancy.

Summary: Dead copy of Don Novello's (Father Guido Sarducci) books
Review: A series of books of this type was done first (and better) by Don Novello (Father Guido Sarducci of Saturday Night Live fame) who used alter ego Lazlo Toth - a rather strenuous and hilariously conservative American Patriot - to lampoon people like Lee Iacocca and other well known figures using letters which are just over the line of rational thought. The responses he received back (sometimes form letters which could play perfectly into the joke and sometimes personal letters) are displayed on the opposing page. If Mr. Novello hadn't died several years ago I would imagine he was behind this. Amazon has these books - I would suggest this one as a start:

The Lazlo Letters: The Amazing, Real-Life, Actual Correspondence of Lazlo Toth, American!
by Don Novello (Paperback - May 1992)

Summary: Actually, I have heard...
Review: ...that the "real" Ted Nancy is, in Fact, Paul Reiser... NOT Jerry Seinfeld. Something to chew on... either way, this book is great...even for reading out loud at parties for laughs! :)

Summary: Very Funny
Review: This is a light, funny book that anyone can pick up and get humor out of. Everyone from family members to friends has thought the book funny. It is a novel concept, one that is so simple that all of us wonder why we did not think of it. Read the book, it will make you feel better.

Summary: You will thank yourself for getting this book.
Review: The book is a compilation of short, outrageously funny request letters all written by one brilliant lunatic with a very twisted sense of humor and the marvelous replies he receives (from everyone and anyone...barber shops, hotels, dentists, city planning commissions, mayors, even a King). I don't think I have ever laughed so hard- or often. I have taken this book with me when I travel- also to school- wherever, and people always end up huddled around, reading over my shoulder or taking turns reading aloud and everyone roaring with laughter. The humor isn't off-color so anyone 12 to 90 will enjoy this. This is one of those books you will NOT want to put down and that you will find readable again and again. There are 3 in the series- if you just get one, get the first one (this one), but you will definately be back for the other two.
This is humor along the lines of the old "Jerky boys" routines but MUCH funnier. It is also better than Dave Barry's columns- Barry is somewhat off the wall but seems very stuck on a predictable, plodding format which detracts from the humor. To compare- Dave Barry gives the occasional chuckle or smirk- Ted Nancy will work out your stomach muscles.

Summary: Best Coffee Table Book I Know Of
Review: This is without a doubt one of the only books that can make ANYONE LAUGH (and they laugh hard!)

I have shown this and the second book (More Letters From A Nut) to many people and have yet to see one person read even one of the letters without laughing. (There's a third book, too.)

Great fun!

ONE WARNING!: This book, although hilarious, contains a few ideas that are not suitable for younger children (only a few cases, but enough.)
