Rating: Summary: A movie to live by. Review: I remember when i first heard about swingers many years ago. I didnt even know what it was about, but something made me want to see it. When i did i was blown away. I have never seen a movie like this. I was so use to the big action packed movies and never realized there was a whole other field of films out there. Ever since i saw swingers i have been a huge fan. I was also very infactuated by the character Mikey. He has become a sort of a idle for me, or at least someone who i look up too. A while ago i saw this screenplay and bought it. I was even more suprised to see that Jon Favreau was the writer. Jon Favreau was also Mikey in the film. Jon has inspired me to change who i am, and i have. I am also very interested in the film industry and started writing screenplays myself, and i used the screenplay to swingers to start me out writing my own. I owe everything to Jon Favreau I used to be a adolescent punk, now i live in hollywood and have friends that can't be better. I am also trying to get into directing. I learned that maturity means your pleasure isn't worth someone elses pain. Might i say all my friends now are very mature. Thanks alot Jon if i ever get a big movie deal i'm looking you up. take care all. bye.
Rating: Summary: A magnificant screenplay and movie! Review: I was blown away when I saw the movie. I watched it three times right afterwards and I watch it almost 3x a week. The expression is magnificant and the way they actors portray the characters is unbelievable. Right away I fell in love w/ vince vaughn and after I read the book and I love him even more! Fantastic!
Rating: Summary: The money, the bomb. Review: One of the funniest, greatest screenplays ever. Favreau, with his originality, portrayed the life of a man and his friends in the Hollywood area. It deals with the problems of women, dating, and the nightlife of Mike (Jon Favreau). Great screenplay and movie. If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for??
Rating: Summary: History of the screenplay Review: Swingers was well known in Hollywood for about two years before it was ever even filmed. We would do staged readings for investors and producers in the hopes of getting it financed, and the screenplay itself was a favorite among the vast network of assistants at the agencies. The script was passed around because it was considered a "fun read" regardless of whether or not there was any professional interest in the material. For years, I had been approached by assistants and low level execs who claimed to be fans of my movie even though it had not yet been made.It was the support of these people that gave me the confidence to persue the crusade to make this little movie, and now it forever lives in the video racks and art house theaters. For those who appreciate the film, it might be interesting to read the original screenplay and to see how the movie's personality evolved. For those who are interested in making their own film, the introduction recounting what actually lead to its production may offer some insight. For those who enjoy the film's humor, a "rules" chapter that Vince Vaughn and I put together should be a nice added touch. My life has changed a lot since I wrote this screenplay over the course of two weeks in my roach-infested Hollywood apartment. It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to present a piece of work that is, in some ways, more personal than the film itself.

Rating: Summary: It's just so money, baby. Review: This is a great companion piece to the film. The screenplay differs slightly from what is spoken in the film, but this is what Favreau originally wrote and is why the movie came about. The introduction, rules, and glossary are all nice added features.
Rating: Summary: damn funny stuff Review: this is one of the classic modern movies, get the script and memorize every great line to annoy your friends with.
Rating: Summary: Here's the rub: a great screenplay. Review: Whether or not you've seen the movie or bought the soundtrack, the screenplay is definitely worth reading. In his intro, Favreau discusses what it took for him to write this screenplay and get it made into a movie. His dialogue is brilliant and realistic. He also leaves this as it was originally written, without the parts that were added during the making of the movie. You'll notice some of Vince Vaughn's lines are changed and a certain character in the movie is more prevalent. If you're fascinated what a great movie's screenplay looks like, this is it.
