Review: I've just finished to read Cover to cover by Clark Kidder. I think It's a very good book, interesting and rich of photos. I could find some Marilyn covers I had never saw, from all part of word. Interesting also the writing of the autor. My favourite cover is on page 108, the first at the left. I also like very much the cover on page 130, maybe because It's from an Italian magazine.

The magazine covers are presented in chronological order and are not your usual thumbnail photos. These are large enough to really view Marilyn at her most captivating. The images reveal a Monroe who is at times glamorous, at other times vulnerable. The images allow you to fully realize the evolution of Norma Jeane to the high wattge superstar, Marilyn Monroe. Not only is the Hollywood glamour there, but there is also images of her touching humanity.The information provided for each cover is thoroughly researched by Clark Kidder. This book is a valuable resource for Monroe trivia. Mr. Kidder has given us an intelligent and highly provocative book about Marilyn Monroe. The love of the subject by the author is demonstrated in the careful attention to details. This book is a must have for any collection. A rare find for fans. I only hope this will be followed up by Volume 2.

Summary: Not just another book on Marilyn Monroe. Quite unique!
Review: You'll find over 300 of Marilyn Monroe's magazine covers pictured (nearly all in color) in my book, representing about thirty countries around the world. Each cover description includes the title of the magazine, date of publication, approximate value, cover photographer's name (if known) and country of origin. In addition, interesting anecdotes, quotes and descriptions are included for every cover. A lot of these quotes and anecdotes are totally new material on Marilyn, as extracted from the many hundreds of vintage magazines in my collection. A wonderful foreword has been written by Mamie Van Doren. The covers are arranged chronologically to show the metamorphosis (if you will) of Norma Jeane into Marilyn Monroe. These represent the years of 1945 to 1962 in Marliyn's life, showing her from age nineteen to thirty-six. The covers begin when Norma Jeane was still a budding young actress/model with curly brunette hair and progress, as Marilyn gets her hair straightened and gradually lightened to a shimmering blonde. You'll find the book quite remarkable I believe. Many collectors have reported that they are buying two copies of my book - one to use as a reference and the other to put away.
