Rating: Summary: Laugh Out Loud Hilarious! Review: From page one, I was already laughing out loud. This farcical memoir moves fast, incorporating hilariously imagined sequences along with Kennedy's already amusing life. I actually called friends on the phone so that I could recite some of my favorite parts to them. I recommend this to anyone who like humor, books, and or the written word.

Rating: Summary: Self help & Re-affirmation Review: How many times has a humor book's publisher promised plenty of sex scenes in hopes of jump-starting sales only to never deliver on the steamy promises? The answer is a resounding 'all to often' and this book is no exception however Dan Kennedy's experiences are so easily relatable to my own that this book served as reassurance that I've made many great decisions in my life simply based on Dan's sometimes misguided judgement. The book is a great, easy & entertaining read. Highly recommended if you are going on vacation!
Rating: Summary: Plenty of Scrumpin'? Review: How many times has a humor book's publisher promised plenty of sex scenes in hopes of jump-starting sales only to never deliver on the steamy promises? The answer is a resounding 'all to often'....but not in the case of Dan Kennedy. Apparently this man gets the goods......oh wait.....I'm thinking of the book, "Loser Goes Home With the Ladies: An autobiography of Enrique Englesias."my bad. Kim Bosch
Rating: Summary: Where you are king, and the sexy fun never stops. Review: How many times has a humor book's publisher promised plenty of sex scenes, in hopes of jump-starting sales, only to never deliver on the steamy promises? The answer is a resounding 'all too often!' Believe me when I tell you that Loser Goes First delivers on that sacred promise. When a memoir opens with Peter Frampton, Ace Frehley, a view of a ceiling and the epic pace of a bishop, you know that you're in for a good time. Get your reading hand ready, and get this book. Get it while it's hot.
Rating: Summary: Cool Ranch Doritos sound really good right now... Review: I am drunk and not signed in with my own Amazon account, but have a few things to say about this book nonetheless.. 1. It's funny. The kind of funny that gnaws at your insides rather than hits your outsides like a really strong left hook at a late-night bar room brawl. This is the kind of funny you tell other people -- funny stories and crazy words. There are a lot of words in this book, which brings me to... 2. There are a lot of words and letters in this book. Some people could have put them together into a myriad of ways, but Dan Kennedy does his best to string them along in a continuous loop of hilarity and originality. Original, mmm, original pizza hut, crust-stuffed with cheese... I like cheese. And speaking of which-- 3. Cheese-factor. It's the kind of cheese factor that's been aged over many decades, none of that canned under extreme pressure stuff. This is quality, cracker-worthy, cheese. 4. Buy-factor. Sure, it's a hard cover, but it's worth it. When the hell else do you have the chance to buy something so strong, you can use it to pry open the car door of an freeway accident victim, simply by inserting, opening up to that hilarious chapter, and saving an innocent life. Probably never.
Rating: Summary: Extremely funny...but also heartfelt! Review: I am not exactly sure what McSweeney's is (or who?) but I can tell you this book made me laugh more than I have in a long time -- but I would also say that this book has a fair amount of sincere insights in the story. There are a fair share of authors who can get a laugh from me here and there...but I found myself keeping my wife awake when I tried to read it in bed, which brings me to my biggest warning about this book...DON'T TRY TO READ IT IN BED unless you're sleeping alone, that is!
Rating: Summary: Really folks, not that funny........ Review: I had high expectations for this book, something on the order of "Selling Ben Cheever" or "A Working Stiff's Manifesto." Both of those books had a biting sense of humor, but they were also insightful about the world of work and the confusing sense of identity that comes from frequent job loss and career shifts. "Loser Goes First," however, is heavy on smarm and self-satisfaction, and provides little to no insight either about the author or the uncertain workplace. I would categorize this book as yet another installment of the "Slacker Chronicles," whereby writers with style to spare and not a lot of relevance or depth, tell about their lives as if we should automatically find them interesting. I'm not kidding when I say that I didn't so much as chuckle, and instead only finished the book because it was short enough not to be a burden. Given the press, I'd say this is a highly overrated piece of fluff.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Hilarious Review: I highly recommend this book if you enjoy edgy, humourous story telling. At several points during Loser Goes First, I had to put the book down as I knew I was going to laugh uncontrollably in a public space and didn't want to look like a raving lunatic. I purposely read this book slowly so to stretch out the enjoyment of it. It's that good. I enjoyed Dan's telling about all of his crazy jobs and experiences.
Rating: Summary: The book is good....so read it Review: I read the book. It made me laugh.
