Summary: A Definative Guide To Lead Guitar
Review: For a long time I was struggling with teaching myself the guitar. Then I bought this book, and it all suddenly came together. Harvey Vinson is a great teacher. This book gives you useful techniques and a brief history on the concept of rock and blues guitar. The CD that it comes with (performed by Harvey Vinson & The Mustangs) is incredibly useful. The backing instruments on the CD are very helpful.

Summary: Big Thumbs Up
Review: I have been taking guitar lessons for about three years. My guitar teacher uses this book along with some others. He uses them basically for the excersizes though and teaches me the technique. I have tried going ahead in the book and noticed that it would be very hard to actually learn to play from the book. It's good if you need to think of something to practice on but I wouldn't buy it unless you already know the basic techniques.

Summary: Big Thumbs Up
Review: If you're looking for a book to help you learn to play the guitar, this is it. I have been playing on and off for a few years, and finally made great strides after picking up this book.

Harvey Vinson lays it all out, in a logical manner. I was able to sit down, and start playing along with it immediately, and within a month of practicing every day with the book, I was very happy with the results.

Finding a good teacher is tough, and finding a good instructional book is even tougher. You will find both in this book.

Summary: Encompasing yet rapid overview enables you without waste.
Review: This is an ideal book for those who want to learn rock and blues guitar and enjoy playing with others without time spent on side trips to musical notation or classical training methods. Unlike many training books, everything you learn is applicable to what you want to play. The lessons are logically presented in a clear encouraging, measured way that builds confidence. Thank you Harvey Vinson.
