Summary: Don't Believe Everything You Read
Review: I have read this book, and i have also read the reviews written by other people. Unfortunately, they belive most of it, however not all of it is correct. Although the author researched extensively, he got many things wrong. From little things (like song's chart positions) to where he got his research (confusing resources like MTV and VHI). But it's not just that, it's the BIG PICTURE. Come on, unless you have the support and participation of the person you are writing a biography on, you're going to get a lot of it wrong. I don't care if he did interview Madonna's associates from the past--they could have resentful feelings toward her and might have offered the author many untruths. All i'm saying is, Madonna had nothing to do with this book, so if you choose to read it, be cautious. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because it was an interesting read, i'll admit that. My rating is based on considering his book FICTION. If i consider it non-fiction, my rating is 0 stars!

Summary: Revealing
Review: I liked the book. It is not a casual event.

Check Madonna out in this book and you get to know the Madonna you knew and the one you suspected you did. There does not seem to be a boring moment in her life .I tis a sequel of clmix and anti climax. You will get the full dish of gossip and some hard core facts. Madonna never totally surrender to becoming a victim and is always vanquished.

There are some moving vividly described moments in this book that you do not want to miss. Her confrontation with her father; her interaction wiht her professor in the university of Michigan and her realtion with her first manager; and her interaction wiht Gwenyth Paltro and Tony Ward. In those special moments Madonna appears to be larger then life itself.

It can be turned into a beautiful movie just like Valley of the Dolls. This is an all inclusive book about Madonna but you still feel a the book lacks some truths a deep insight of the complexity of her life, her emotions and events.

It is worth reading. But you have to read it with the sense that you are not prying into a private life, and you will feel you have gained insight into well known people lives.

Summary: Awesome Book
Review: I thought this was going to be a huge let-down; I deplore books that promise a lot in their titles and then don't deliver the goods. How much more "intimate" can anyone be with Madonna's life, considering what she's already said and done? (Remember the SEX book of hers?) Plenty, apparently ... at least based on this author's hard work. If you are a die-hard fan, as I am, much of this drama will seem familiar. But even I didn't know the stuff about Madonna and John Kennedy Jr, Warren Beatty and some of the other guys. Plus, the author does give credit where it's due regarding Madonna's songwriting ability and her business sense. On the whole, this was fair and balanced, and it made me actually like a lot of the guys she's been with, such as Tony Ward -- but the awful Dennis Rodman, who the author gives the business to here, is as much a traitor to Madonna as any man could be. All in all, there's no way any reasonable person could view this book as a hatchet-job, except maybe the see-no-evil, hear-no-evil fan who can't bear a critical word about his diva. Plus, this is an easy, fun read. I ripped right through it, and can't wait to read it again. So, I give this book 5 Big Stars... and I can't wait for the sequel.

Summary: Only One Step Above "The National Inquirer"....
Review: I was fairly disappointed in this book...I believe the author has taken quite a few liberties with his facts, sources, & quotes! Most of this book comes off like a "docu-drama" (for example, how could the author possibly know what Madonna is thinking as she stares at her newest wrinkles in the mirror?) Also, the author's characterization of Madonna's 80's fling, Prince, sounds like he watched "Purple Rain" (a 17-yr-old movie) a few times to be able to describe him. In other words, there's little more than generalizations, hearsay, & gossip presented as an actual biography. Christopher Anderson's book is much better.

Summary: PERFECT!!
Review: I wasn't even a Madonna fan until I read this book. Taraborrelli does an INCREDIBLE job and has converted me to Madonna 'fanhood'. Revealing, exciting and most of all addictive, I read An Intimate Biography cover to cover in two days.
Excellent book choice for any Madonna fan, or like me,pepole not even interested. You'll be pleasently suprised what the combination of Madonna and Taraborrelli have to offer. You won't be disappointed!

Summary: Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know about M
Review: I've read his book on Michael Jackon, and this book turned out just as great! First off, the book will hook you. It's accurate, detailed and in order. He was able to collect info on her from over a Decade worth of Intense researching. Like the Jackson bio, he quotes the main figure and her counterparts.
The author seems to know her well!!
Taraborrelli is an Amazing journalist/writer.. I mean, if this is an International Hit.. why not read it? :-)
Yeah, there's the controversial abortions and questionable antics.. Heck, that's what makes the book Interesting to me!

Summary: Hit&Miss
Review: J.Randy Taraborrelli is a trip. His Books on Diana Ross&Michael Jackson were each a Trip.He wrote a few Weak Books as well.this Book falls into in Between.Interesting tidbits but overall unlike the Diana Ross Book witch was a Trip&The Michael Jackson Book that was a Great Read this one just goes into different spots.Madonna is of course one of the most Interesting Subjects In Pop Culture over the past 30 Years but this Book is Hit&Miss& falls just short of being a must to me.

Summary: ENTERTAINING BUT LACKS STYLE!
Review: Madonna - you either love her or you don't, but needless to say her popularity and rise to the top of the charts are an indication that she is adored by many for her talent and extraordinary appeal; she attracts popularity like flowers attract bees.

Since this is an "unauthorized biography" it is almost impossible to tell what parts are actual truths and which parts have been embellished to portray her originality and give the public the naughty-girl image. However, factual the information may or may not be, I do not believe the biography revealed anything of the true inner-soul that dwells within Madonna. Rather, the author seemd to have a fixation on bringing out the worst in Madonna because he felt that is what the audience wanted to hear and more often than not, publicity (good or bad) is what sells books.

The downside is that in the process the author left the impression Madonna was little more than an oversexed, flighty airhead. In reality, I believe there is probably much more to Madonna than we the public see and that her life and rise to fame, for all its showy glitz and glamour, was not exactly a bowl of cherries. The book actually read like a spicey, little tabloid, but it is written in classic Taraborrelli style, so what can we expect?
