Summary: Where are all these mistakes?
Review: I watched The Wizard of Os with this book's list of mistakes right by my side and I could not find most of the mistakes this book lists. I had another person watch it a second tiome with me and we could not find the things this author says are int he film. I have watched the film hundreds of times, up close on DVD, the restored versions, the old versions. These mistakes are not there.

Waste of money. Maybe the other films are more accurate.

Summary: Great Book
Review: Movie Mistakes is a really good book that I must say was fun to read. I love to watch movies and I am always looking for little errors that the directors, producers, ect. make. I have gone to the site movie-mistakes.com which is also a good place to find mistakes in movies.
When the movie Titanic came to theatres, there was not one person I knew who hadn't seen it. Everyone said it was the perfect movie but I found out they were so wrong! Last time I checked, Titanc had a total of 148 mistakes! I found that to be incredible! Anyways, buy the book. Its worth every penny and more!

Summary: Movie Mistakes Dot Com
Review: There is also a site - www.moviemistakes.com, which is free (unless you want to pay for membership which allows access to pictures of the mistakes, less ads, etc), and shows many more mistakes. There are sections for TV and movie mistakes, and each show is ordered either into episodes or ordered by rating (you can give thumbs up or thumbs down to the mistake, and the most popular will end up in the Top 20 mistakes). There are sections of each movie/show for major and minor mistakes, corrections (of the mistakes that are submitted), trivia, easter eggs, pictures, and questions (that are asked by anyone). You can submit any of these, as long as you follow the rules. There are also different types of mistakes - continuity, revealing, "deliberate", factual, audio, visible crew/equipment, plot holes, and other. The 'manager' of the site does not contribute mistakes, trivia, etc, but rather the audience submits all of the information. In the case of an incorrect mistake, someone can also correct it. It's a great site.

Summary: Is that a gas cylinder in you chariot?
Review: This is an entertaining compilation of some famous, and some not-so-famous, movie blunders. Mr Sandys has collected thousands of 'movie mistakes' from a variety of sources, mostly from keen internet users, and with some diligent checking, has lead to this good summary of various movie goofs.

The book is divided into various categories such as the all-time most popular mistakes (as voted on his website), visible crew, things that move that shouldn't (such as the dead), instantly changing weather, and the like. Some gems include wristwatches in 19th century Africa, visible land in the open ocean, actors knocking into doorframes, gas cylinders in ancient Rome, animals which don't care for directors ambitions, kids who cover their ears when a gunshot is coming, and the like. Its amusing, varied, painstakingly compiled and checked, and generally good fun.

Its not meant to be a criticism of various movies, just a lighthearted look at various movie goofs. If you have a DVD you can easily check some of the mistakes listed herein, although in recent years, wise editors have deleted some of the worst mistakes from DVD releases.

I have checked about 100 mistakes that interested me, and I have found that most of the time Mr Sandys and his horde of internet compilers are right, although I have found the odd 'mistake' amongst the listed mistakes, so to speak, at least in my opinion. But never mind about splitting hairs, most of the mistakes listed here are the more obvious and less contentious ones. Movie editors aren't perfect, and neither are mistake spotters!.

Its lighthearted, entertaining, and recommended for movie buffs, not to be taken too seriously. There is a good website also with much more detail, which gets quite a bit of traffic.
