Review: Lieder, Line by Line and Word for Word by Lois Phillips has been a great addition to my library. There are not only poetic translations of many art song texts but word-by-word translations which offers the reader a deeper understanding of the poetry. For a beginning singer who is not proficient with the German language, this book is a valuable source of information. I recommend it.

Review: this book saved me hours of translation time in college. I had to use it at the library, now I'm building a personal library of my own and it is a must have. I will also get the italian word by word as well.
