Summary: Why we should hesitate before generating offspring:
Review: The piquant drawings and delicious writing of Edward Gorey never fail to provide pleasure and (guilty?) amusement, particularly at the expense of... children. That he is one of the very few artists in any medium who gets away with this in these stridently familo-centric times is both refreshing and a testament to his genius. --Chris Jense

Summary: Wonderful.............
Review: This is an absolutely wonderful book. It's for everyone out there who secretly hates the screaching child in the back of the theatre/airplane/department store, etc. Face it, some of us were just not meant to reproduce.
Gorey (or Weary...) unleashes his wicked sence of humor and acid wit once again in this ode to the unfortunate and interminable.
The Amazon link was brought to my attention by a friend who actually gave me this book as a gift several years ago. I can't imagine that she spent more than twenty dollars on it at the time; and now I am pleased to see that an existing copy is worth about two-hundred dollars. Question...what might mine be worth....signed?
