Summary: Need a Laugh?
Review: "I never panic when I get lost. I just change where it is I want to go."

"The town where I grew up has a zip code of E-I-E-I-O."

"Black holes are where God divided by zero."

If you like one-liners, you will enjoy Jokes to Go. Most of the entries are one or two lines, and nothing is longer than about a third of a page. There is everything from Henny Youngman and Jackie Mason to Jimmy Fallon and Chris Rock. Lily Tomlin, A. Whitney Brown, Steve Martin, Steven Wright, Margaret Cho, Rita Rudner, Marga Gomez, Dennis Miller, and a few dozen others are all represented here.

The jokes range from current events (George W. Bush jokes, for instance) to borscht belt humor to social commentary. So what are you waiting for? Buy it, already!

Summary: Get Yourself Some Depends
Review: ...because you just might pee yourself reading this book.

The funniest stuff from the funniest folks, sure to cause episodes of incontinence and milk through the nose the world over.

Brown does an excellent job of editing and the comics do a great job of doing what they do best (ie being funny)

Summary: Best Take Out I've Ever Had
Review: Judy Brown has delivered once again a compilation of some of America's brightest comics in an easy to read, can't put down style.

Jokes To GO, is a historical collection of some of the funniest material by wellknown as well as up-and-coming comics.

Kudos to Judy for her dedication to the art and preservation of StandUp. This book is a great gift to anyone who is a lover or a student of comedy!

Summary: Great book
Review: There are many joke books out there and they endlessly cannibalize each other. Ms. Brown though has created something a little more interesting than another 'joke book'. Jokes to Go and her equally delightful earlier anthologies are collections of 'bits' - little gems of that uniquely American art form 'stand up comedy'. A 'bit' combines attitude, wit and above all truth, packs them all tightly like a firecracker and lights the fuse. Her volumes beginning with Joke Soup constitute a virtual encyclopedia of choice 'stand up bits'.

You will find this totally addictive. Very hard to put down and as I found out from bitter experience, even trusted friends are capable of 'permanently borrowing' it.

One word of advice though, these are best read aloud with a lot of feeling and attitude and don't read too many at once, take your time to savor them.

Summary: Funny and fun
Review: This book is great for when you want a laugh and a light read. Lots of jokes by well-known comics and a few that I haven't heard of. The jokes are also organized by topic, so if you ever need something for an ocassion to jot down in a card or if you have to speak before a group, it really comes in handy.
