Summary: nice idea...disappointing execution.
Review: Quite an interesting and seldom adopted perspective on cinema is taken here. Sadly (with very few exceptions) there is little of real value delivered by its attempted analysis and insights. Perhaps if all its brief essays had not been written by professional film critics, who through intellectual short-sightedness and prejudice set a general tone of anti-religious sentiment in their interpretations, a genuine wealth of fresh understanding of this modern form of art in its encounter with the theological might have been cultivated. As it stands, if I were you, I'd wait for better minds than these to publish their thoughts.
