Rating: Summary: Some interesting information Review: This is a rather well written book, especially if you are in England! The problem I found was that this book is directed at parents who have children who play chess in England. The rules and structure of the way things are done in England is about 90% the same as in the United States. The US has its own rule book with some differences (FIDE rules are used in England). Chess in the schools in the US and the way things are set up in the US are a little different. I would have given the book another star if it was written from a US point of view.
If you live in the US like I do and want a book that focuses on US Scholastic Chess, along the lines of this book, then I would much rather recommend "Winning Chess Tournaments for Juniors", publisher: Random House.
