Review: Dargis obviously likes the original novel at least as much as the film. Great analysis of the period, the style, and the content of both the film and the book. You don't have to have read the original Elmore Leonard book to get your time and money's worth out of this Dargis commentary.

Of the 6 or so BFI film books I have read so far, this one by far is the most interesting one yet.
