Rating: Summary: Captain Nebraska's tractor books are great ! Review: My family blames Roger Welsch (aka. Captain Nebraska on the ATIS website) and his three tractor books ( "Old Tractors and the Men Who Love Them" and "Busted Tractors and Rusty Knuckles" are the other two ) for starting all of the antique tractor craziness around our house ! Read them and Enjoy !
Rating: Summary: to know em' is to love em' Review: Reading anyone of Welsch's books is like having a comfortable conversation with a friend . . . truly a delight. Love, Sex and Tractors takes it up a notch providing unique insight into the author's views on the opposite sex and, of all things, antique tractors! People wondered what Zen had to do with motorcycle maintenance and then discovered a wonderous connection when they read that book. I can't promise you will extract similar profound understandings with Welsch's words. But you are sure to experience the devine liberation of a good laugh with this text.
Rating: Summary: Love, sex and tractors and women Review: Roger shows an intense depth of understanding of relationships, women, humor, and family life. When my girlfriend caught me reading it the first evening it came, she took it from me out of curiosity and wouldnt let me have it back! Dont buy this book if you have anything else to do. Once you open, and begin to read, you will not be able to put it down! He has many others and Im told they are equally desirable. I intend to get them all.
Rating: Summary: Humor at it's best Review: This book is great. I laughed so hard I wet myself. It probably helps that I'm in Roger's age group and mindset (I collect old tractors, too), and I can really identify with his "adventures", having been there myself. This is humor in the Dave Barry, Bill Cosby, or Patrick McManus style, not mean, not negative, (I'm not making this up!) just funny. It is real people doing real things, and Roger is expert at pointing out the humor in everyday events. The book shows there is a fine line between a hobby and lunacy. I expect I will have to buy several copies, loaning one out will certainly mean goodby forever.
Rating: Summary: Roger does it again! Review: This is yet another great book by Roger Welsch. He integrates his passion for old tractor restoration with his zest for life in general. A great read!
Rating: Summary: Welsch's latest book a hoot Review: Welsch is not martial or mechanical marvel. But his grasp of writing entertaining books is complete. Reading Love, Sex and Tractors is like having a conversation with an old friends. Plus you are guaranteed to burst out laughing before finishing the first chapter. What follows after that is a rollicking adventure covering some very unusual subjects. After all, the title is "Love, Sex and Tractors!" You don't have to know a blame thing about tractors to enjoy this books. But by the last page you will certainly want to know more about this hugely popular hobby . . . and its favorite author, Roger Welsch.
Rating: Summary: If Rog only wrote that book 30 years ago Review: When I started reading the book, only few moment passed before laughed so the bed was shaking. Couldn't help shouting YES! several times. Tried to tell her what was so right and so funny. All I got was The Look and The Sigh. She don't understand why there's this 3 ton pice of metal where she could park her car. This book should be mandatory for all male above the age of 13. If you don't understand the woman in your life get Roger's book - period.
