Rating: Summary: Take care - This is a CHESS book!!! Review: This is not a funny book. It is written to help players understand the Panov, and not to amuse. On the other hand it is not a dull book. The games selected and the variants suggested are agressive and my main ambition with this book: to help the reader gain a deeper understanding of the Panov, and at the same time provide better theoretical coverage than ECO has in my opinion been accomplished. The chapters are divided in two, where the first half (or more) is a large selection of instructive games and diagrams with arrows (it's fantastic what you can do on a computer these days...) and the second half is the theoretical section, where the usual digging in previous books on the subject and databases has been connected with some new ideas and analysis. The book aims principially for players up to IM-level, but I believe this book will be able to help even players who are a lot stronger than me. A few of our grandmasters in Denmark has seen the book, and they all think it is good. Personally I am quit proud, and hope that a lot of people not only buy it, but also find it entertaining and useful. If anyone has any questions or comments on this book, there is no reason not to e-mail me! Note a slightly amusing mistake on the buttom of page 12.
