Summary: Informative + Great Pictures
Review: The photographs in this book alone tell the story of the development of the electric guitar from its pre-world-war 2 origins to the end of the twentieth century. The text is an added bonus - well-written and full of interesting facts and anecdotes.

This book would make a great addition to your music library.

Review: This is a great book! This is one of the best books I'v read on guitars. Everyone who plays should read it.

Summary: Great photos...poor text
Review: While the photo examples in this book are excellent, the text contains grossly innaccurate historicall accounts. In addition, many of the descriptions of the instruments in the photos are also just plain wrong. For the second edition, the authors should either omit all of the text (and make this a picture book) or re-write all of it.
