Review: This book really explains the basics of how to play bongos and hand percussion clearly. Not only is this book enjoyable to read, it also contains 2 play along cd's. The book covers different styles from pop, salsa, funk, to jazz, it makes percussion fun! This book also covers handbell, maracas, guiro and caxixi. Richie Gajate-Garcia is a master percussionist and a phenomenal instructor. What a great way to go from beginner to intermediate. I also recommend Gajate's instructional video! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Way to go Gajate!
