Summary: Heros Abound In This Tale of Rock 'n Roll
Review: Heroes are found everywhere in the story of a Nashville kid who made good in the brutal business of music, beginning in the late 50s and still going strong in 2004. Autobiographical in its first person telling, this story regails to us tales of "the early days"...before belly piercing and techno grooves, when some of the biggest names in rock and pop music were fledgling acts, just kids. I found myself asking how one person accomplished all these things and met all these people while turning pages as quickly as my eyes could pass the story on to my eager brain. The creativity of Buzz Cason shines brightly from the pages of this delightful story, pictures being proof of the pudding of the rememberances most of us could only imagine in some fantasy life. The photos alone are worth the cost of the book. Every book shelf should sport a copy of this delightful look back down the road over the long, fun trip it's obviously been for the author. I'm getting it for practically everyone on my Christmas list!

Summary: A Stroll Down Memory Lane
Review: The day I received my copy, I wrote the following e-mail to a 1957 high school class mate of mine. I did finish the book the next night, it was truely a stroll down memory lane.

Sam,

James (Buzz) Cason class of '57 has written a book entitled Living the Rock 'n roll Dream. It is available for $22.95 from Amazon. com.

I got my copy yesterday and read the first chapter walking in from the mail box. Last night I couldn't put it down, I just about finished it before falling asleep with it in my lap. I'm sure I'll finish it tonight. In the early chapters of the book, Buzz talks a lot about Inglewood, Ardee Avenue, Noel Ball and Litton - the students and a few of the teachers. Having been a good friend of Buzz's (home room seat mates), I knew some of the incidents he talks about and the memories just flowed through me. I found myself wanting to laugh and cry on the same page. Buzz presents the material in a homey, personal style that makes you feel like you are there. He relates intimate stories of rock 'n roll and country stars that only someone who lived it could have know. I couldn't help but think of Forrest Gump as I was reading the book. Forrest was fortuitously present when world shattering events occurred, Buzz played the same role in the music field. Buzz has done it all in the music industry from performer to song writer, producer and back to performer. I'll bet you didn't know Buzz Cason was the voice of Alvin in Alvin and the Chipmunks for a couple of years. I would have loved this book even if it were written by a stranger.

Summary: Inside the MIND of an entertainer's entire life !
Review: This book, written in the first person, actually invites one into the very thoughts that Mr.Cason has as his memory interacts with some of the most well known and famous entertainers in the entire music industry.
The book is just the "right" length of read - not too long - and full of insight and humor! It includes many photographs too!
I would love to go to one of Mr.Cason's book signing's - I know that this first edition will increase in value over time.

Summary: This Memory Lane is a Fun Little Jaunt!
Review: Who would imagine one person could turn a boy's dream into such a life of creativity, fun and success. This book is the quintessential read for anyone who has ever dreamed of being in the music business, or for that matter, has achieved their own niche of success in the field of entertainment.
