Record Store "Meet and Greets". 4. Major press. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Indie Bible, The indie spirit is alive and well in Angelique!
Rating: Summary: It's everything it says it is . . . and then some! Review: I received a package from Big Meteor Publishing the other day. Inside was a very attractive 9" by 12" by 5/8" paperback book entitled "The Indie Bible." I had been looking forward to its arrival because I had heard nothing but good about it. My expectations were quite high; I had read on more than one website that this was the definitive source guide for independant musicians and I expected a monumental work worthy of such lofty praise. I was not disappointed. The Indie Bible boasts "2700 radio stations that will play your music," "2300 publications that will review your music," and "440 Services tht will help SELL your CDs." Along with these listings are "33 Articles by Industry Experts That Will IGNITE Your Music Career." Okay, so much for the cover, now let's open the book. BAM! Everything promised is here, but what the cover can't prepare you for is just how easy the guide is to use. Also, it's hard to imagine 2700 radio stations until you actually see the listings . . . page after page of radio stations sorted by genre and country. Man! You've struck GOLD! It just keeps getting better. The listings are quite extensive, offering url's and emails and brief commentary/descriptions. But that's not all . . . Remember the "33 Articles by Industry Experts That Will IGNITE Your Music Career" . . . yep, they're there, all 33 of 'em and I can almost guarantee if you read them and follow the advice given, you career will, indeed, IGNITE. "So," you ask, "what do you think of the Indie Bible?" Let me put it this way . . . I don't know how I've gotten as far as I have without it! The Indie Bible is a PeaceWork Music "MUST READ" . . . buy your copy today, you'll be thanking me just like I'm thanking Editor David Wimble for compiling it . . . not to mention sending it to me.

Rating: Summary: From a fan turned contributor to this book... Review: I was an instant fan of David Wimble's earlier incarnation of "The Indie Contact Bible" after having stumbled upon it and purchasing the book a couple of years ago. I was so impressed by the massive amount of quality resources he compiled that I was all too happy to donate two articles I had written for my GuitarGirls Web site on the subject of Real Audio for this updated version of the book. I was not compensated in any way for the contributions and donated the articles because I wholeheartedly believe the Indie Contact Bible is an extremely valuable resource for all Independent artists regardless of genre and I wanted to be a part of it. In addition to my articles and 31 others written by a variety of informed music industry professionals, this must-have reference book is filled with enough resources to keep you busy for many months to come. Finding them all on your own would wear you out long before the job was done. Thanks, David, for making is such that we don't have to!

Rating: Summary: A "Real" Sourcebook! Review: In the pursuit of our musical goals, many resources claim that for a small fee they can help pave the way to success. I have found that the resource thus far to deliver such success has been The Indie Bible. I have received many great reviews and have seen a lot of air play for my music from sources I would have never known about had it not been for David Wimble's effort in compiling so much helpful information. My press kit is chucked full of positive press from around the WORLD because of The Indie Bible. For the do-it-yourself indie artist, The Indie Bible is to a musician what a life jacket is to a sailor!
Rating: Summary: I love the Indie Bible! Read on.... Review: Let's start from my own personal experience. I bought this book, submitted my song via mp3 to 5 radio stations that were listed in one of the many categories, not expecting any responses. Needless to say, within a week a popular DJ had emailed me to send him a cd to play on his Friday night show. In disbelief I sent it and the day after it was played, I received extra hits on my website. It was really incredible. This guide lists 2700 radio stations that are willing to play your music and 2300 publications that will review your music. Included are also 33 very useful Articles with tips in the music business and 440 services to help sell your cd's. It lives up to the hype and it saved me alot of time. All listings offer web and/or email addresses as well as a short description of the site. Although the thought of not having the actual street addresses may discourage some from purchasing, you must realize that the internet is one of the most effective ways to market your music nowadays in order to reach the world. I give this book 5 stars!
Rating: Summary: A veritable "how-to" guide! Review: One of the most impressive things about the Indie Bible to me (and several other folks I've talked with) is the great collection of industry-related articles in the back. It's an excellent mix of topics and authors--a veritable "how-to" guide to many aspects of the music business.
Rating: Summary: A Tremendous Resource Review: There are plenty of books about the music industry for the independent artist. For my money, this is the best. Why? - Exhaustive information. There were more review and radio listings is my genre than in ANY other source I tried or on the net. My genre, jazz, is not as popular as it once was, yet I had plenty of listings of interest. He's got lots of listings in there for ANY genre. - Great background essays. Those were helpful and I got super ideas about my career from them. - Continuous improvement. Wimble provides annual updates and is pretty accessible by email. I've corresponded with him on a couple of occasions, and he's been great each time. I believe that, for any independent musician, this book is an unbelievably good shortcut to get actionable information to help you in a hurry. This book would be worth 10 times as much!
Rating: Summary: Definitely a book that you should have on your desk! Review: This is definitely a book that you should have on your desk and be ready to pick up each night to get some business done!
