Summary: Beautiful
Review: Absolutely beautiful. The artwork contains enough symbology for easy interpretation while giving insight into the characteristics of the goddesses portraied. I personally use the deck for meditation more than divination and in that respect it is invaluable. The cards are very large and a little difficult to shuffle, which I consider the only drawback of the deck, and this prevents me from using it frequently for divination. I would recommend this deck to anyone interested in the Tarot and Goddess spirituality or Wicca.

Summary: goddess tarot review
Review: I have been collecting tarot decks for a couple years now, and have more than a dozen decks I use regularly. The Goddess Tarot is a kinder, gentler deck than most. While I have had very accurate readings with others, when I read for myself, I find very depressing outcomes. Not so with the Goddess deck, as others have mentioned, it points towards reasons why things are the way they are, instead of beating one over the head with what the problem is. I found this very condusive to meditation, and found some very satisfactory answers, to some very thorny problems in my life. I would very highly recommed this deck for those with some experience reading cards. Wonderful addition to any collection. Beautiful artwork is a plus!!!

Summary: Beautiful
Review: I have been drooling over this deck for a long time, and I finally got my hands on it! Often a deck is disappointing after the anticipation has ended, but I haven't changed my mind about the Goddess Tarot.

The Majors have, for the most part, the standard meanings, though each figure is replaced by a Goddess who represents the concept of the card. For example, the Hierophant becomes "Tradition" and is represented by Juno, and the High Priestess is "Wisdom", and features Sarasvati. They are lovely art-wise, and my only complaint is that they tend to sugarcoat a few of the darker cards. But then, I gripe about every deck in which Death is called something other than Death. Waldherr calls it Transformation. It's a peeve of mine, but the meaning is the same, and the Goddess pictured, Ukemochi, works well--she was killed, and food plants sprouted forth from her body. Life from death. It's a slightly Pollyanna-ish interpretation of the card, but it's OK.

I've heard people griping about the Minors on various web sites, but I personally like these. They are mostly re-paintings of the Pamela Smith cards, which means they're easy to learn and interpret. Their beauty stirs the imagination and really involves your emotions in the reading, and their gentle colors are comforting.

All in all, one of my favorite decks.

Summary: Feminine Deck Filled With Lore and Lovely Art
Review: I love the art of the talented Kris Waldherr, especially her Book of Goddesses that this deck is based upon. This is a wonderful Tarot deck that bases its symbolism on the Rider-Waite deck but it has transformed the symbols into female, Goddess centered mythos. The artwork is very beautiful, detailed and evocative. The cards are larger than a standard deck but it seemed that my hands just got used to the size after a while. The Major Arcana cards each feature a different goddess and include this line-up: Tara, Isis, Sarasvati, Estsanatlehi, Freyja, Juno, Venus, Rhiannon, Athena, Chang O, Lakshmi, Oya, Kuan Yin, Ukemochi, Yemana, Nyai Loro Kidul, The Wawalak, Inanna, Diana, The Zorya, Gwenhwyfar, and Gaia. As you can see, the deck introduces many of the less familiar goddesses. The small paper pamphlet that accompanies the deck offers a sampling of their lore. A helpful workbook is available separately. The Minor Arcana is divided up into four different cultural stories each corresponding with one of the four elements, water, air, earth and fire. Each card except for the court cards shows a woman as she undergoes the journey symbolized by the suit. The suit of Cups is the Path of Venus, Staves is Freyja, Swords is Isis, and Pentacles is Lakshmi. The court cards show the querant's psyche in different times and areas of life and can also be used to represent different people.
I think the deck is very user friendly and I enjoy its different focus. So many women seek out Tarot readings to help them work through and understand the influence of the men in their lives upon their lives. This deck is so useful for keeping querants focused on their own issues and their own well-being.

Summary: The Goddess
Review: I think this is the absolutely most beautiful deck ever. I find it easy to use and lovingly crafted. I found that the Majors were Goddesses could be off putting to some I have read for however, they are personally a delight.

Summary: So-so deck
Review: Is it just me? Sure, the art is good. Sure, we need Goddess depictions. But, I found the deck curiously lacking in any kind of traditional tarot symbolism that would clue the reader in to the various interpretations of the card. If you've memorized the goddesses and know what they stand for, you are in good shape. A beginner, however, won't derive much benefit from this deck. Pretty pictures may go a long way for some, but symbolism is at the heart of the tarot. I like a little more meat with my veggies.

Summary: Magnificent deck
Review: It may not be my favourite, but I have fallen in love with the Goddess tarot deck. The artwork is beautiful and powerful, the meanings empowering, and all in all is a wonderful deck to use for self-empowerment. I especially enjoy the inclusion of Freyja, one of the Goddesses I work with a lot. My only complaint is that the cards are very wide and those with small hands will not handle that well, and that is why I have taken off one star. If you enjoy beauty, do yourself a favour and purchase this deck. It may help you tremondously in the long run.

Summary: The Goddess Tarot Deck
Review: The artwork is beautiful. The thing I didn't like about the cards is that most of the Major Arcana cards have different names. To someone who is new to Tarot, it makes reading the cards a bit trickier. For example, instead of "The Fool" this deck has "Beginnings". Some may find these cards easier to read, others may find it more difficult... depending on whether or not you are learning the Tarot from books/guides or from intuition.

Summary: My first deck
Review: This deck is absolutely beautiful. The artwork is amazing and the companion book is very accurate. A little bit different from traditional tarot but still very accurate. Each card has a different goddess on it and each goddess may have a different message for you. Good as a daily one card oracle or a regular tarot deck, this deck is one of my favorites!
