Rating: Summary: You've got to be kidding! Review: I agree, and I disagree. I agree with Lynn's Big Girl Career Idols. What I DON'T agree with are her list of Fashion Must-Haves. Big Girl Big Shirt? Leggings? Linen Pantsuits? When have these looked good on ANYBODY? Linen wrinkles, for God's sake! Are we trying to hide our fat? It ain't gonna work. These items accentuate what we're trying to hide. I can't count the times that my boyfriend saw a girl walking down the street wearing spandex pants with a big shirt and said "What the HELL is she trying to do?" "Does she think that looks attractive?" i haven't even been through the whole book yet and I can already say that I'm not impressed. It's a ridiculous book....I wish I would have saved my money. You'd be better off reading "The Fat Girl's Guide to Life" by Wendy Shanker....it's much more realistic.
Rating: Summary: GREAT Book! Review: I LOVED this book! I've lived a lot of it, and really connected with the author's stories! I think most women who have struggled with their weight are going to find snippets of their life in this book! Especially funny? The part about the 4 food groups, and the author's experience doing a half marathon as a big girl! I truly had tears rolling down my face (from laughter, of course!) reading these sections! Read it and see what you identify with!
Rating: Summary: If you like to laugh Review: If you like to laugh, don't miss The Big Girls' Guide to Life. Bunkie Lynn tells it like it is for a lot of women as she covers such subjects as food and its procurement; exercise and its avoidance; clothes, makeup, hair and its removal; heaving yourself up the career ladder; and relationships and money. There's a lot of truth between the laughs, no matter what size you are!
Rating: Summary: Big laughs Review: This book is a riot. I think the author still has issues though. Her fashion section is so outdated it goes back to the earlier 90's!
She adds the "fat is funny" to her style which is good, but still sterotypical. People laugh at fat people as it is. The good thing is it stays posative which is excellent. I'd give it a 5,but it's not 5 worthy.
