Review: This book will tell you everything and I mean EVERYTHING you wanted to and didn't know about Donald Cammel & Nicolas Roeg's film, Performance. There is background info on ALL those involved on and behind the scenes such as Mick Jagger, Anita Pallenberg, Michele Breton (whatever happened to her after filming wraped!)James Fox and everyone else. Donald Cammel's struggle with Warner Bros. over the content. Which parts got cut and where the edits eventually ended up!! The offscreen relationships between Brenton and Cammel...Jagger and Pallenberg,quotes from the cast,the filming, and the above all...what was Donald Cammel really trying to get across with this film? What was the ending about...why do we see Turner's face in the window of the car when it's suppose to be Chas? It's all here!! There is also mention of things that some people may have not even noticed or given much thought to while watching....such as the significance of the rolls-royce,the 'Old Man In The Mountain',Persia,those naked gangsters from "Memo From Turner",why clips of Turner spray painting his house flash on screen for no reason even before he is introduced, Pherber's "B12" shot, the Francis Bacon painting .....whoa! and I THOUGHT I understood this movie!
