Summary: Ribald, yet intelligent jokes
Review: If you like modestly dirty jokes, then this is the book for you. Many of them are puns and most are meant to be interpreted as a ribald joke. On page 19, there is the joke:

When I travel on an airplane, I love to be served TWA milk and TWA coffee. But I love to be served TWA tea.

And on page 59, you find

It's Operation Desert Storm and one of the donkeys used to carry supplies keels over, dies and starts to swell up and stink. Three GIs are assigned the job of burying the beast, and right in the middle of digging, Barbara Walters comes by with a news crew and asks for an interview. "What are you digging there, men", she asks, "a foxhole?" "That's what it is! Absolutely!', they all shout.

It took me a second to get each one, but once I did, I found them hilarious. As is the case with any book with hundreds of jokes, no one will find all of them to be funny.
The author has been elected punster of the year and has won several jokester contests. From the quality of the jokes in this book, you can see why. Most of them are funny, although the point is not always obvious. However, that is what makes them better and funnier, as you get the intellectual pleasure of thinking through to the punch line and the joy of laughing at the joke.

Summary: MUST GIVE IT A MIXED REVIEW
Review: There is a lot of stuff in this book... some fun, little funny, and a lot that's dumb. If the book was intended just as a historical collection of the clever and corny, it succeeded, but if every entry was meant to entertain, it fell short. I do not regret the purchase and recommend it... just don't expect to do a lot of laughing (but you'll chuckle from time to time.)
