Rating: Summary: Letters Galore Review: Hi,my name is jessica Napier and my book is called Sheldon And Mrs.Livine.The authors are Sam Bobrick and Julie Stien. The genre of my book is realistic fiction, the setting of my book is New York,1993.My book has 43 pages. The plot is that there's this boy named Sheldon and he's mad at his mom because she payed his wife 50,000 dallars to leave him, and all they do in this book is write letters back and forth to each other. The reasonI like this book is because it's cool, funny and has wierd pictures in it.I would recomend this book to kids/teenagers 11 and up because it's funny to read and it;s got some pretty easy words in it to read.Agian I'm Jessica Napier and you can get this book from your local library.Bye!
Rating: Summary: This is MY Life!!! Review: I couldn't believe this book[.] How could these two incredibly psychic writers know my life? Mrs. Levine is an exact blend of my mother and my mother-in-law morphed together. I am so glad this Sheldon lives a life synonymous with mine, to bear some of the manipulative guilt and frustration our family feels when after the most superficial of conversations about the weather with these characters, leaves you feeling as tho you have boiled an orphanage of infants. Bravo! I am orderinag a case of these[.] I think everyone involved should have their own rosary-styled copy to get you thru the centuries of guilt you must endure! Don't miss this one! It's truly a winner!...

Rating: Summary: Just a gimmick Review: I didn't find this book funny at all, but actually rather sad. I picked up this book at a thrift store. It is [like]the Griffin and Sabine trilogy: it has the envelopes with letters tucked inside, the postcards... But once you read a few pages, the amusement fades off and the dialog between Sheldon and his mother is so silly that it becomes irritating. The good news is that it is a short book, so the irritation doesn't last too long.
Rating: Summary: The funniest satire since "Gulliver's Travels" Review: Last year I bought my mother-in-law the book "Griffin and Sabine," which is a delightful romantic book of a somewhat supernatural correspondence. (It is subtitled "An Extraordinary Correspondence") This year my mother-in-law bought me the book "Sheldon and Mrs. Levine" and it was such a riot! This is a fabulous parody of the original, done so well that at first I believed that Nick Bantock had begun another trilogy! You'll love it even if you've never read "Griffin and Sabine"! P.S. This book is subtitled "An Excrutiating Correspondence".
Rating: Summary: Touching and intimate Review: Sheldon and Mrs. Levine is a wonderful book! ...The nature of the letters makes the reader feel involved, as if he is seeing a scrapbook and not a fictional parody. The humor is touching and sweet. A must-own (once you read it, you'll want to own it)!

Rating: Summary: Funniest book--you will have belly laughs galore Review: This book is on our coffee table Anyone who comes in is given it and they delight in the clever words, amazing art and unique presentation. Friends read and laugh out loud. What a wonderful book....I am waiting for a sequel. I recommend heartily.
Rating: Summary: Sheldon and Mrs. Levine Review: This book was hysterically funny and yet bittersweet. All my friends and myself have our own copies thanks to Amazon.com.
Rating: Summary: Excruciatingly FUNNY Review: When asked what he felt the difference between an amateur and a professional comedian was, Groucho Marx answered..."An AMATEUR thinks it's funny to get a stunt man, dress him up like an old lady, stick him in a wheelchair and push him off a cliff but for a PROFESSIONAL, it has to be a REAL, OLD LADY!!" I think GROUCHO would have loved SHELDON AND MRS. LEVINE. When I stopped into the Monessen Public Library to look through their 'FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE', I certainly did not expect to find one of the funniest books I'VE READ TO DATE! The creativity and humor employed to take a look at this overly-dependent, mother/son relationship, left me laughing out loud AND wondering if the book was out-of-print, since I was already thinking of many friends with whom I wanted to share the laughter. Perhaps, it isn't for all palates but I would invite, ENCOURAGE, everyone to have a GO at it!! Like me, they might find it surprisingly, delightfully, refreshingly FUNNY!!
