Review: More accurate title: The Miles Davis/Gil Evans/Bill Evans/Eddie Vinson/Jimmy Heath/Herbie Hancock/Chuck Wayne/Etc Real Book. Such was our hero's penchant for outright tune thievery, but no matter, it just means more material for your buck in this case. Anyway, this is no more "real" than any average "fake" book: vague chord voicings, some incorrect changes and structures, plenty of omitted melodies and bass note changes, etc. Really amateurish in spots. Some of the tunes are more spelled out than others, but mostly these are very rough and sometimes inaccurate sketches that still leave the player with much ear work to do on their own. Disappointing.
