Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Interesting book
Review: Along with "The Road to Chess Improvement" by Yermolinsky and SOMCS and its sequel by Watson, this is another great book for improving your general understanding of chess. If you know openings and endgames well but are having trouble improving your results or rating, I recommend getting "My System" by Nimzovitch, the three others I mentioned above, and then this book.
The book itself is slightly dense to read, and you must have a board handy to get the most out of it. FM Avni's annotations help you to learn as you play through the games and his many side-variations, but are almost impossible to follow in your head.

This book is pretty unique, and I would suggest it as a gift for players 1650 USCF+.
