Review: Although knowledgable about Bunuel's films, Evans' writing is so overly intellectual that it is almost impossible to decipher his ideas. The book is burdened by his devotion to the French analytical style of Foucalt and others, and thereby he fails to communicate the beautiful and alarming lucidity of Bunuel's actual work.
