Rating: Summary: Hating Across America Review: Is Priest's homosexuality the cause or effect of mysoginy of this degree? He complains of shallowness (higher levels of prostitution) applied by his prey yet pens his manifesto with mention of Manhattan, and Southampton residences (trophies). In addition to his homosexuality (not that there is anything wrong with that)Priest lacks the intellectual prowess to capture this irony, or appreciation that as higher mamals we live beyond our glandular reactions (there is more to a heterosexual relationship or even encounter than putting something in a hole). Many personal nuances are so blatantly European as to cause the reader to question the originality of much of this material. Shameless whining reveals a skill set suitable for a career in personal injury law or insurance sales.
Rating: Summary: Yes, it's crude, rude and obnoxious but... Review: it's also funny as hell. If you're a guy in your late teens to late 30's, you'll love this book. I laughed myself silly and the cartoons absolutely rule!!! Even my wife (who's over 35, by the way) admitted that it's pretty funny, however, I hear not all women would agree with that. But then again, who asked them in the first place...
Rating: Summary: As a women, I hate to admit that the book is really funny Review: One afternoon visiting my family in the Burbs, I hear my boyfriend and dad crack-up together non-stop, they were red in their faces and could hardly breath. Nosy me wanted to know what was going on and I found them huddled together reading the Shagging for America book. They made a big secret out of it and other silly stuff boys do but eventually I got my hands on their dirty little secret. Although, I didn't want to like the jokes and humor, the book is pretty funny. Girls, if you ever wondered if guys really only want our bodies, the answer is YESSSSSSS!!! Just kidding of course but the book does put a hillarious spin on all the male-female dating clichees.
Rating: Summary: As a women, I hate to admit that the book is really funny Review: There is only one word for this book-- HILARIOUS! There is also another one--mysoginist. The author makes Patrick Bateman look like a feminist!I especially liked the "Definition of eternity" (the time between your coming and her going); the chapter "If She Won't Take her Clothes off, Take Yours Off" and "Never tell a Woman You Love Her Even If you Don't" "Shagging on the Cheap" and "Everything is Deniable" were also very funny. Buy the book but don"t let your girlfriend see it. She'll kill you!
