Summary: Even I can do these!
Review: I first got hooked on "CrissCross" when I picked up a puzzle magazine for my senior mother in London. I got stuck in the airport coming home and broke out her magazine. I made a mess of it because I didn't get very far on any of them, let alone solve them. After I got home I picked this book up and had a field day! I could actually do these. They are not easy but they are unique, challenging and just plain do-able. I especially like that each puzzle here has a theme too. I cannot wait until the next one (hopefully)comes out.

Summary: Quick puzzles suitable for the assumed time frame
Review: This collection of puzzles is amusing to look at and fun to work through. The book is shaped like a toilet bowl and the image of a toilet bowl is on both covers. Inside, you will find a collection of simple puzzles whose difficulty is consistent with the implicit message on the cover. Namely, that each can be completed in the amount of time one would ordinarily spend parked on the potty. I agree with this time frame, as it generally took me around five minutes to complete a puzzle.
Each of the puzzles is constructed like a crossword puzzle, but there are no numbered clues or hints. A list of words with various lengths, but none over eight letters, is given as well as a grid where the words are to go. Your goal is to find the unique arrangement of the words in the grid. The key to finding the solution is to quickly identify a situation where there is only one word that can go in that position. In general, I started by looking for a long word with several overlaps with other words.
There are thirty nine puzzles in the collection and solutions are included in the back of the book. If you are interested in simple puzzles that can be solved in a short time, then this is a book for you.
