Rating: Summary: A unique representation of this genre. Review: I have read all 4 of Stalward's novels. It is not possible for me to say which I liked the best. Dixon Stalward has an amazing control over words. He paints the most vivid scenes, and provokes erotic visions. All of his books are full of the most wonderful tapestries constructed of words alone. Each of the four books grips you at the very start and you are not released until the very last word. I can hardly wait for the next.
Rating: Summary: This is an excellent book on gay men's sexuality Review: Pieces is a paperback book containing eight sexually explicitstories that deal with sex between men. However, these stories gobeyond the graphic details of the lusty scenarios and delve into many other facets of the gay lifestyle. In doing this, Dixon Stalward is able to assemble a variety of characters in each story. In Lyle Stacy's Roost, Standall Quinn meets up with Lyle Stacy while on a fishing expedition, and Lyle invites Standall to come up on the ridge anytime he feels the need to be "taken care of". Standall recounts his first meeting with Lyle, which is a steamy beginning to the story, and provides a glimpse of what is to come. Of course, Standall cannot resist Lyle's invitation and shortly he is on his way up the ridge. As the story continues, additional characters are artfully drawn into the story. Characters such as Clifford Evans, Uncle Potter and Gaspar Alfonso Cortez y Bolivar del Rio de Sanchez. (That is a mouthful in itself!). Standall's encounters with these characters, individually and as a group, provides him with a new and improved outlook on life. Coach Moss is the story of Linderman, a young, strapping wrestler, who is hot for his favorite coach. Linderman has worked hard plotting his overt seduction of Coach Moss and has a plan to get past Henderson, the security guard. The action is in the shower with Coach Moss, and of course, they are caught in the act by Henderson, who is happy to join the action. The Jonnie Man is a story told by Daryll Stevies about the last week of his vacation which is spent in the country. Daryll had rented a cottage from Mrs. Potero and was accustomed to nude sunbathing on the granite boulders nearby. There were no other cottages or houses nearby, so Daryll thought he was alone. However, Daryll is 'interrupted' by a shotgun toting man who claims to be the landowner and who has been spying on Daryll for the last two days. This is only the beginning as they begin their own sexual extravaganza. However, much to Daryll's surprise, there is another voyeur who is happy to join in and provide another round of steamy sex. The varied characters and the wide variety of locations lead to stimulating reading regardless of which story is at hand. I have only covered three of the eight stories that make up this book. You will have to read the book in its entirety to enjoy all of the details of these stories and the other five stories that I did not mention. I am sure you will enjoy this book as much as I have.
Rating: Summary: Pieces------You will love! Review: This book is a lusty delightful compilation of stories about gay men. Although it is fiction, most gay readers will readily indentify with many situations and characters which are portrayed. Here is a rousing cheer for this "arousing" book.
