Summary: Wasn't the worst but far from the best
Review: I bought this book and could not wait to read it. It was a disappointment. It wasn't the worse book that I have read but it was not the best. I am the type of person, once I begin reading a book I don't stop until I am finish. This is the only reason that I completed this book. There were entirely too many typing errors. Ms. Hunter did not do a very good job developing her characters in my opinion. I also feel as though she left you hanging at the end. This book was a little better than 2 stars but not better than three.

Summary: terrible
Review: I read this book and I did not like it. It appears the author can't speak english cause the grammar is terrible. The story is boring. I do suggest that if you have trouble sleeping at night, read this because it will put you to sleep inside of 1 page.

Summary: A round of applause...
Review: Let's start with the cover...I liked the black and white a lot. It's an attention getter and the title keeps my attention.
I liked the characters and their individual story lines. The editing did take away from their storylines a bit. Crystal's storyline was my favorite, I thought it transitioned smoothly. I enjoyed Jewel's storyline as well. Susan's storyline jumped at points in the book though and I found myself going back to make it make sense to me. It later developed and was a nice read. Elsie's storyline left too many questions, I thought her character could have been developed more. The reality of the characters and their life stories had me relating. I didn't want to put it down before I found out what Crystal was going to do, what road Jewel would take, and who was going to put Susan in check. I was waiting to see Elsie get cold busted, for real. I really enjoyed the book; the author did a good job. I can't wait to read the next one!

Summary: Ignorance to the race
Review: Ms. Hunter, I appreciated reading every word of this book. I had wrestled with many demons since I lost my sister. She was a rape victim and she could not cope with the guilt and suffering. I lost her last year. I wish your book had come across her desk earlier. I enjoyed the meshing of your characters and I felt that I was a part of the story. I must point out there are some typos in the book but other than that it is a wonderful book. FIRE YOUR EDITOR!!! Please let us readers know when your next manuscript comes to life. Well done. I am suggesting your book to some friends of mine, they will not be able to borrow it they will have to buy it. God Bless.

Summary: WHO WAS THE EDITOR STEVIE WONDER?
Review: O.K. AFTER YOU GET PAST THE GRAMMER ERRORS
THIS BOOK IS A FLOP
FOUR WOMEN HAVE ISSUES TO DEAL WITH
THE AUTHOR DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB
CREATING A GOOD STORY
1. THIS WOMAN IS DATING A WHITE MAN FOR THE FIRST TIME
AND SHE HAS A HARD TIME GETTING OVER THAT, THEN HER BABY FARTHER ASK HER BACK.
2. NEXT WOMAN HAS A DRUG PROBLEM, IT TAKES SOMETHING TO GO WRONG FOR HER TO SEEK HELP
3. THE NEXT LADY START DATING AN OLD CHILD HOOD BOYFRIEND WHILE ATTRACTED TO ANOTHER MAN THEN SHE ENDS UP HAVING TO MAKE A CHOICE
4. THE LAST LADY IS A LESBIAN WHO START HAVING FEELINGS FOR HER FIRST LOVE AND ACTS ON THEM THEN SHE HAS TO MAKE A CHOICE.

NOW THIS IS A NICE PLOT BUT THE AUTHOR DID NOT BRING IT OUT TO WELL

Summary: Sisters needing Sisters
Review: There comes a time in everyone's life when they need to know someone cares. In Angel Hunter's debut novel, You Are Not Alone, we are given the chance to view the lives and relationships of four special black women. This novel is definitely a winner. Hunter is the founder of The Essence of Self Center, an organization that offers life-enhancing workshops to individuals and groups.

This novel is about sisterhood and friendships. Beginning with the cover you can see that this is a good book. Pictured are four beautiful black women who are neither sad nor smiling. Their eyes tell you there's a story to be told.

Crystal, Elsie, Susan and Jewell are the key players in Hunter's novel. Laced with love, addiction and lust these four sisters take friendship to a new level. The four women work together in a law firm: Crystal, Elsie, and Susan are attorneys and Jewell is the paralegal. Together, these four women realize they share a common bond. Crystal is stuck in her past and cannot move forward with her life. Elsie wants to have it both ways, she is bisexual, but she wants to have children. Susan is in complete denial about her drug addiction. Jewell is just downright confused, she is dating a white man, but when her son's father reappears the confusion over her feelings for him increases. Even though these women have never discussed their personal business, suddenly Crystal decides to bring them together and this is the story really heats up.

Hunter is clear and concise in her writing. The plot is delivered easily in a fast paced entertaining novel. She brings it all together in an ending that makes you want to know more about what happened to the characters.

I really enjoyed reading this novel. The hallmark of the novel is the storyline that kept me glued to my seat. Each page is filled with scenes of high emotion and drama. I could not get enough. Ms. Hunter has written an excellent novel about friendship and support between African American women. I plan to buy other books by the author.
