Summary: Wonderful cookbook
Review: A friend recommended this cookbook to me and I've been grateful ever since. Hearing it was lowfat originally turned me off, but the author advocates eating good fats and saturated fat in moderation so I decided to give it a try. Practically everything I've made in this cookbook has been wonderful- don't be fooled since there are no pictures. The recipes are extremely easy and don't have you buying a laundry list of ingredients where you only use a tiny bit just for the recipe. Over and over again I come back to this book because so many things have been great. If you like ginger, real maple syrup,and/or apple cider, you're in luck because the author's a fan and many recipes contain one of those things.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: As a member of Weight Watchers and someone who is always trying to eat well and feed my family in a healthy way, I absolutely love this cookbook. It is the one I turn to when I don't know what I feel like but have a certain ingredient in mind; Terry always has several tasty suggestions to choose from. Several other lowfat cookbooks I own have recipes that are tasteless by comparison, and I like that Terry has included desserts that are not just fruit. This is a cookbook for real families (yes, my children eat just about everything I've made) who are trying to eat better in a realistic way. For Weight Watchers it's really great becuase the fat, fiber and calories are all listed so calculating Points is easy. I highly recommend this book for both new and experienced cooks.

Summary: Worth the money
Review: First of all, I don't know what the reviewer "silversurfer" was talking about. This book got awesome reviews from almost everyone, so apparently that person doesn't know how to cook, or can't get used to healthy food. Anyway, this book is great. I'm a real skeptic when it comes to buying healthy cooking books because it seems as if they all call for off-the-wall ingredients that aren't available to me, or require too much preparation for something that doesn't even taste all that good. With most of Terry's recipes you can pretty much figure out what they're going to taste like because the ingredients are simple. I'm a more advanced cook, but even if you're not, this is a great book to start with. Very easy to follow, and tasty too. She gives personal advice on the best way to cook things, which I've never seen in any other book. If you're trying to lose weight, and don't want to waste time deciphering complex recipes, then this is for you. This is a great book to plan your meals by, which in my opinion, is the key to losing weight.

Summary: The very best lowfat cookbook I have ever owned!!!!
Review: I bought this book over a year ago and it has been the most used and loved cookbook on my shelf. Unlike most lowfat cookbooks in which you find few good recipes, the recipes in this book are all winners. Many of the recipes have become family favorites, and my family is very picky (husband and 5 year old). There are very easy, simple and quick recipes, then there are those that will impress any dinner guest. Not only are the dinners delicious, the author provides simply wonderful side dishes to accompany them. We enjoy everything from the Cranberry Maple Muffins, to the Beef and Noodles (family favorite). Please try the Chocolate Crackle Cookies, people raved last year when I gave them away for the holidays! And there are so many recipes, when a craving hits for a certain food, you're sure to find a recipe to match; pizza, macaroni and cheese, pasta, pies, cakes...and you'll be absolutely amazed at how good they taste!!

Every other lowfat cookbook you buy after this one will leave you dissapointed, I hope the author comes out with another cookbook, I'll be the first in line to buy it!

Summary: 1,000 Lowfat Recipes
Review: I found this book wonderful! I have marked hundreds of recipes and have made nearly all of them. You can't even tell the fat is missing from most of them! The Mexican Meatloaf recipe has become just one of my favorite recipes! I recommend this book to all of my friends!

Summary: Exellent everyday recipes
Review: I have thoroughly enjoyed this recipe book! I bought it about a year ago and have used the recipes countless times. Whether cooking for my family or entertaining friends, her recipes contain everyday ingredients that I already have in my kitchen. My friends at various brunches have begged me for recipes, so I have already recommended this book many times by word of mouth. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for great tasting, yet lowfat recipes. VERY well done!

Summary: Rely on this cookbook
Review: I took a cooking class from Terry back in the 1980's (Brookline Adult Education) and have been relying on her recipes ever since. I bought this book as soon as I found out about it. I use it for my weekly menu planning and could not do without it. I'm thinking of buying another copy because my current one is falling apart!

I can't begin to list all of the recipes I use in this cookbook. After all this time, I'm still finding new ones that I really like. One of my favorites is the seafood gumbo. Another is chicken and rice. Her chicken kabobs can be prepared really quickly and taste wonderful. I make her corn muffins all the time. The list really is endless.

Thank you Terry so much for this cookbook!
