Summary: Helpful and Fun Too!
Review: The stories in this book were helpful to me. When I'm depressed I want to go shopping and these easy to read stories gave me the support I needed to look elsewhere for satisfaction. After reading this book, I've started thinking instead of making an automatic purchase. Reading this book was fun. I liked that it wasn't preachy. The inside design is great. Makes a great gift.

Summary: Cute and makes you think
Review: This book is fun to read because it is soooo cute on the inside. There are stories that make you stop and think about shopping. I admit to shopping til I drop. I want to make some changings and the way Amanda Ford explains things in a simple fun way really made me think about what I'm doing.

Summary: Funny, Wise and Touching
Review: This book is more than a shopping guide, it's really about knowing yourself a little bit better. It's funny and wise and touching---made me laugh and cry. I could relate to so many of the stories. Retail therapy is a sweet-hearted book and makes a great gift for any women who likes to shop.

Summary: Everyday activity described with unusual insight
Review: This is a book about an ordinary everyday activity written in an extraordinary way. It's easy to write a "profound book" but this is much harder. Ms. Ford has written about an everyday activity like shopping with unusual insight and awareness. I found humor, insight and much to think about. I recommend this book to all!

Summary: surprising, uplifting message
Review: This is a delightful book with insight, wisdom and a thoughtful message. An antidote to addictive, mindless shoping. The stories are upbeat, touching and funny. I laughed at the section about men and recognized myself in shopping for shells.

Summary: Lovely! Funny! Truthful!
Review: This is a lovely book with tiny treasures throughout, a great surprise. I thought it would be about shopping, but found out it was more about awareness and mindfulness. The story of her mother's healing (and shopping) following the death of her husband touched me deeply. I laughed at the chapters about shopping with men and I loved the prom dress story. Amanda transformed everyday shopping into a zen walk.

Summary: Surprising
Review: This is a surprising book. I thought it would be just about shopping but it really is much deeper than that. There are some very touching stories that made me think about my shopping habit in a whole new way. I am trying to be more thoughtful about how I spend my money and this started me thinking.
