Summary: I don't have hours to cook!
Review: Hello? Rosie is a professional chef that makes a living cooking for others. I do not have the time or the ingredients to make these recipes. This is a pure Oprah-hype cook book. There are maybe 45 recipes in it and my goodness they take a long time to make. Get real!! Not all of us can afford personal chefs.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful Recipes
Review: I agree with other customers, that these recipes are time consuming, but they are soooooooooo delicious. I used Rosie's book to lose 50 pounds in 5 months. I do wish she would come out with another book with some easier recipes with the great taste that these have. Thanks Rosie!

Summary: Enjoyed the more gourmet style of recipes
Review: I enjoyed this little book. While it is not one if you are looking for a great quanity of recipes, it does have many different recipes in it. The recipes seem to shoot for the folks that like a little gourmet flavor to their recipes. They have a wonderful asparagus salad with blue cheese, pasta with white clam sauce, and all sorts of delicious pizzas. Recipes include nutritional value, this book is not particularly friend to Weight Watchers because they offer no fiber counts. All in all I bet that many can find several good recipes out of this book.

Summary: Terrible!
Review: I just threw away my copy of this cookbook after yet another disgusting dish. The pictures are pretty but that's about it. All the other negative reviews have summed it up. Do not buy this book. It was a great disappointment!

Summary: In The Kitchen with Rosie has the best ever chicken recipe!
Review: I purchased the book right after it was published and have lost or misplaced my copy. I am buying another copy just for the unfried chicken recipe. It was very, very delicious. Fried chicken is a big no-no for most healthy eaters but not the way Rosie fixes it! It's certainly worth the price of the book!

Summary: Terrible!
Review: If I were allowed to give this book a lower rating, I would. I have been cooking and collecting recipes since 1965, so I am not a novice at this. The seasonings, and sometimes the textures of the food in this book are so awful, they are hard to describe. For instance, there are two recipes for muffins in this book. The first one, Spicey Bran Muffins, is so overloaded with cloves and ginger, that, after the first bite, you are left with such a bitter and rancid aftertaste that you do not want any more! The second recipe, Oatmeal Muffins, also has the spices overwhelming and out of balance, even if you do go to the trouble of squeezing your own orange juice, which I did. What really gets you on this one is how nasty the texture is. It is really indescribable and bad.

If Oprah really ate this stuff, it is no wonder she lost weight. It gave me a stomach ache and ruined my appetite! If Rosie was cooking this stuff because Oprah likes it, Okay for her, but if she was cooking it because she thinks it is good, then shame on her. As a professional, she should know better!

It is one thing to eat healthy and well..It is another thing to eat garbage and call it a diet.

PS The "unfried chicken" is decent, but there are dozens of recipes for this posted for free on the Internet. The one recipe is no good reason to spend money on this very bad book!

Summary: Not worth your time.............
Review: Io had heard great things about this small cookbook, but was let down. It offers very few recipes all of which range from bland to unappetizing. I also found very little variety.

Cooking should be fun- this book amkes it more of a chore with too many ingrdeients- some of whish are pricey and hard to find! Cookbooks usually inspire me to try lots of new things, but not this one!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not for beginners
Review: The recipes all sound appetizing, but you will need time, patience, and skill to implement them. As a working woman, I can't say this book has been at all useful.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: good recipes
Review: Their are some really good recipes in here. Yes some of them take a while to prepare and cook, but the finished product is worth it. I also really liked that they were healthy foods.
