Rating: Summary: Helpful supplement Review: My professor had us read Tyson & Tyson's Psychoanalytic Theories of Development. Tyson's glossary was not helpful enough. This book helped with the many holes that Tyson left unexplained.I would recommend this book for those new to studying psychodynamic concepts & theories
Rating: Summary: An incredibly Useful Tool for Psychoanalytic Reading Review: This book, in clearly written, concise definitions, outlines the major terms and concepts of psychoanalytic thinking and literature. As a candidate at a psychoanalytic institute I found it incredibly helpful and useful. If you want in-depth concepts, this is not the book for you, but if you are looking for a quick, clear definition of a psychoanalytic term, then look no further. This is way better than the Laplanche dictionary, and is indispensible for beginners in the field. If you want to know more about me go to http://www.michaelzjody.com
