Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent survey of the bodywork field as of 1991.
Review: Each therapy in the book is described in terms of history, background, and from a first-person perspective that makes it easy to get a sense of the therapy. Please, please, please update this book - it was the most helpful resource I've come across, and I was excited to get an updated version, but alas there was none...

Summary: In the bodywork field this gets a 10 STAR rating
Review: This book gives excellent thumbnail sketches of most of the bodywork techniques currently available in the U.S. Prospective clients get a sneak preview before paying for a service. Bodyworkers get a sneak preview before investing continuing education dollars in a particular field. An invaluable resource for bodywork students. Summary: A first-line resource for descriptions on manual therapies
Review: This book surveys the plentiful landscape of manual, hands-on therapies. The description of the therapy and resource phone numbers and addresses of certifying or teaching bodies associated with the therapy, allows the reader to determine if a particular therapy is worth investigating. This book is the first book I reach for when a person in the fibromyalgia support group that I lead is trying to locate a therapy that may help them escape from the pain of fibromyalgia.
