Rating: Summary: Got Sponsor? Review: By the time I used the "Hope and Recovery" workbook, I had already gone through the 12 Steps three times, so bear in mind that I'll be comparing this workbook to how I orginally worked the 12 Steps with my sponsor.I found the workbook to be a good tool but failed to address other issues that my sponsor and I actually covered in the first go 'round of the Steps. I highly recommend working the Steps with a sponsor. I strongly discourage using just this workbook...WITHOUT a sponsor. What would happen? Great information...but information never kept me sober. I did, however, liked the exercise for Step Seven: asking people who were in the program when I first started what changes they see in me. I was lucky in that there were three people that I could ask then. Rarely is there anyone else that I sit with at meetings that were present when I got in the SAA program. Get the workbook if you must...it couldn't hurt, but I highly suggest working the Steps with a sponsor. This suggestion is similar to saying, "You can jump out of a flying plane if you'd like, but it's suggested that you carry a parachute with you especially if you want to live."
Rating: Summary: Got Sponsor? Review: This is an excellent thought provoking easy to use tool to anyone seeking help in overcoming sexual addiction and/or obsessive sexual thoughts. It could be of help to other seeking a step by step approach to working through the 12 steps. I am using it and have found the process of writing down the answers is transforming my recovery.. albeit NOT perfect.. its about progress and this is a good progress tool.. even better when you use it working with someone else.
