Rating: Summary: stress eating can be controlled using six step plan in book Review: After reading this book, I learned easy ways to control stress eating. In my fast paced life, it was easy to grab the wrong foods. I always felt tired and frustrated. Stress was causing irritablility in my family relationships and work relationships. After reading this book, I am eating foods that increase my energy and I feel in control of my life. Eating is such a important part of our day to day living; it is worth the time to learn to eat to improve our emotional states. This book helped me improve all facets of my life! Would highly recommend to everyone!
Rating: Summary: Easy-to-read, easy-to apply diet for life! Review: I'd Kill For A Cookie is a great book that deals with the everyday nuiances that cause us to eat incorrectly. It applies to people in all walks of life, from professionals, to families, to kids. I changed from the pancakes and syrup I was giving my kids to a protein packed breakfast so they would have more energy and concentration. I also quit eating so much protein late at night because that was the reason I was having trouble sleeping, and now I eat something with more carbohydrates in the evenings. This books shows how we can still eat all the foods we love, we may just have to eat them in moderation or eat them at a different time. When we are stressed, and we all are at some time or another whether we realize it or not, we tend to eat what is the easiest to grab, which is usually the wrong thing! Then we end up feeling worse and eat something else that is bad. This book shows how to manage our stress through proper nutrition. Once we begin to eat this stress-reducing way, we will be amazed, as I was--and still am--at how good we can really feel. This is truly not a diet, per say, but a way of eating for optimal mental health and physical health for your entire life. I am so glad I found this book! I think any person that reads I'd Kill For A Cookie would find it beneficial.
Rating: Summary: this book sucked Review: need i say more. dont waste your time. you dont need to spend your money or your time to learn that you are better off eating fruits and vegetables than chocolate and that you will lose weight if you exercise. duh!!!
Rating: Summary: The real deal Review: One of the reasons diet books are so frustrating is that they expect you to eat like a lab rat: 1/4 cup of this, 2 oz. of that, with results that are ridiculously impractical, not to mention unpalatable. Mitchell and Christie are unlike any other diet authors in that they do us the kindness of not dictating menus or recipes, just easy-to-implement strategies for eating the best of what's out there. Refreshingly free from quack theories or hectoring lectures, their advice is kindly, practical, and above all based on the latest scientific data about diet and nutrition.
Rating: Summary: very informative, easy to read and to apply to your own life Review: This book makes you understand why you feel and act the way you do when you are hungry and under stress. It shows how eating the wrong foods at the wrong times can aggravate the way you feel. It also shows how eating the right foods at the right time can alleviate the feeling of stress and lack of energy. This book is easy to read, even injects humor, and has a simple plan that can adapt to anyone's lifestyle or eating style. I found it really helped me understand why I had trouble getting to sleep at night and why I felt so draggy during the middle of the day. Changing a few simple eating habits eliminated these problems and have made me feel 100% better. Everyone would probably benefit from reading this book, even if they think they already know everything!
Rating: Summary: sensible and helpful! Review: This book provides clear explanations for how food can affect our moods and how we can work with that in a healthy way. The information is based on research and science -- this is not another diet fad book, yay!! And thankfully, the authors recognize that we aren't all alike and that there is no one regimen to follow. They help you figure out how to adapt your eating habits without feeling deprived or restricted!
