Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Brave work of inner exploration, healing, self-knowledge
Review: Rothenberg's book works on many levels, as brilliant self analysis, exploration of the orphan's psychology, the mind-body connection, and early childhood trauma. It is also a moving memoir that stands on its own. Jewel in the Wound is a tremendous template for anyone beginning or engaged in any kind of self-analysis or therapy. Rothenberg's gift to us is her psychological knowledge combined with her willingness to reveal how that knowledge helps her confront her own psychological scars (literal and otherwise).
